Pain. Razier flinched as she pushed open the door and her whole body felt like an electric shock ran through her. It hurt like hell. She'd been aching for weeks. She had a thin sheet of sweat covering her brow. Razier wiped it away and took a deep breath as she leaned against the door of the hideout to close it. She closed her eyes as another wave of pain washed over her. 'Damn.'
It was probably poison. She couldn't prove it though and she couldn't figure out what type and how to fix it. Razi sighed and walked down the hall into the livingroom. She then knocked on Manuelle's door and in turn Marielle's door. After she went back to the livingroom and took a seat in a chair. She would probably have to explain things to them first, but in the end she'd need to make use of the room to the left, a training room.
Today was the day she would try and see what the siblings could do. She would test them and their skills. She wouldn't take it easy on them though. If they got hurt she'd heal them later. She didn't expect them to go easy on her either. If she got hurt, well she probably wouldn't even notice over what she already felt. Razier sighed and rubbed her temples.
((blah crap.))

Manny sat in his new room thinking. All of this was just too much for him. No matter how hard he tried to fight it the more and more he realized that all of this was real. He was in the Bermuda Triangle. Talking to plants would get him in contact with Razier. There were such things as demons and elves. Razier had healing powers. He was still a little skeptical about Arinada being his mother thought and that would take a little more investigation before he believed it completely.
He lay on his back with his iPod on, just thinking about things as he drummed his fingers on his chest. He had told everyone on the island that things were perfect back home, but he had been lying. Yes, he was about to go off to college and start a new chapter in his life. But things weren’t as perfect with his girlfriend as he made them out to be. About three weeks before Manuelle was brought to the island he had caught Raquel cheating on him with his enemy, Jordan. Manny was furious and hadn’t spoken to her for two weeks. In that two weeks, he did a lot of thinking and finally agreed to forgive her and try again with their relationship. Just at the start of their new beginning, Manuelle and Marielle had been captured and brought to The Island.
Manny finally found the a song that was relaxing and turned it down a little so that it wasn’t too loud. He sat up, leaning against the headboard, thinking about how things would change if and whenever he went back home. Should he have gotten back together with Raquel? The entire time they had date, even before he caught her cheating, had been rocky which lead Manny to believe that maybe she cheated throughout their relationship. Finally being away from her gave him a chance to think about whether he really wanted to be with her or not. Regardless of his hesitations to be with her, Manny still missed her, or more so, missed being in a relationship. He missed the kissing and touching, he missed the smiles and laughs, he missed the silent understanding…all of those things that would come from someone that loved him, whether it be Raquel or not.
He heard a faint knock on his door and growled lowly as his thoughts were interrupted. It was either Marielle or Razier and he didn’t particularly want to see anyone right now. Manny turned the MP3 player off and opened the door. He walked out to find Razier sitting in a chair in the living room. She looked a little beat, but he knew that she was tough so he didn’t question it. “What do you want?”

'What do you want?'
Razier grimaced as Manuelle growled the words at her. She looked over at him, her lips still in the same thin line. "Don't take that tone of voice with me. Sit down and shut up. I've got some things I need to propose to you. Not that it's really a choice for you, you have to do it. So I guess technically I'm just telling you." Razier motioned to the couch with one hand, her eyes wandering around the room otherwise. She really wasn't in the mood to be nagged at by a brat like Manuelle.
She kept her seat and waited for Marielle to show up too. several minutes passed and nothing. She stood and went back to her door, knocking. "Is Marielle even here, Manuelle?" She didn't really need his reply though because she just opened the door and looked for herself. Marielle was not in her room. Razier sighed and shut the door again. "Great, and here she seemed to think that run in with the demons would stop you guys from running off. Yet she goes galavanting. No matter, she knows how to contact me and I can just do this all over again with her later. She'll probably be back soon anyway. I doubt she'd go far."
In truth, Razier sort of selfishly thought that was best. Then she'd only have to worry about Manuelle's powers and getting hurt by them, rather than both of theirs. At least at a time. She really didn't know how she'd do fighting both at once. One might even be too much. Not that she'd ever admit that out loud. Least of all to Manuelle. She'd fight anyway and just do her best to avoid his powers. Razier turned back to Manuelle and clapped her hands together.
"Ok, so today is the fun day. I get to start physically training you. Yay!" Her tone was quite clearly fake happy, especially as her face was blank. "First, I want to see what you can do. Then we'll start... trying to bring out your powers. If we get any of them to show we'll try and help you harness them. Ok? Ok. Come on." Razier strode across the room and opened the left side door. It gave way to a dirt-walled room covered in vines and with a leafy green cieling. Razier loved that room.
She ran her fingers over a leaf on her way in and they all shook as if in greeting. She laughed gently, despite the pain it caused in her chest, and moved to the center of the room. "Ok, so first things first. Fighting fighting. Like fist fighting. Come at me and hit me. Don't worry about me being a girl, though I doubt you would." Razier muttered under her breath. She hit her hands together and held them out to him, beckoning him to just fight her. Make it quick and easy. Granted it wouldn't really be easy for her. Everything would hurt ten times more than usual at the very least.
This was her job though and like it or not she owed her parents to do it. If the prophecy children were going to be on that island and decided it's fate the least they could do is be any good with what they had, powers and physical strength alike. Razier wouldn't hand over the island to anyone she could fight and have a 50% chance or more of beating. Right now she had a 100% chance of beating these kids, even in her weakened state. Or so she hoped.

Manuelle stood there as Razier spoke, everything she was nagging him about going into one ear and out the other. He had a few choice words for her too, but they weren’t exactly appropriate. Though he didn’t hear a word that she said, he noticed her beckon him to the couch. Not in the mood for confrontation, he followed her order. Part of the things that Manny thought about was the fact that, as crazy as things were, Razier’s job was to protect him. If cooperating with her would make this process smoother and easier, then he was all for it…sometimes.
He sat there with her, waiting for his sister. Needless to say, it was a little bit awkward. He didn’t want to listen to Razier but he didn’t want to die either. Being attacked by demons was a harsh reality. Razier was like a slap in the face, telling him to wake up and this isn’t a dream. He didn’t leave the hide out much anymore because the frequent pains he experience from the attack reminded him of how dangerous it was out there. He got a little angry when he realized that Marielle didn’t listen. How was he supposed to be her big protective brother if she wouldn’t stay put? “Oh well,” he thought to himself. ”She could just find a plant to talk to… He ended that last thought with a smirk on his face.
Manny continued to wait while tapping his foot anxiously. One thing he hated was wasting time. He didn’t even know why he was there. Finally, she said something and he actually listened this time. The sarcasm in her voice was so thick that it could be cut with a knife. He knew that she didn’t want to work with him, but it’s not like he wanted to work with her either. As Razier turned to walk out of the room, Manny gave her the finger behind her back. Yeah, it was mean, but he wasn’t in a good mood and he hated being told what to do. He’d take it back if she found out that he did it, which she probably wouldn’t.
As he followed her into a new room he noticed that it had an earthy feel to it. It was unlike anything he had seen before, but figured that Razier would be into something like that. He listened to what she said about fighting and nearly laughed when she told him to hit her. He felt a little hurt that she thought he’d hit her even though she was a girl. “I would never hit a woman, thanks. And I’m not going to hit you. You can’t be serious…” Though it seemed as if she was. Was she trying to prove that she was stronger than him, because he doubted that very much. Manuelle worked out everyday back home and he was a phenomenal football, basketball, and soccer player. Razier didn’t know what she was getting herself into.

Razier growled to herself as he said he wouldn't hit her. "Fine then I'll start by hitting you." No doubt Manuelle probably thought he could take her. Well, too bad for him he was wrong. She might be a girl, smaller in build and lighter on her feet than him, but she spent her whole life training to fight. So he played sports, it wasn't the same as training day in and day out with weapons, with hitting, punching, kicking, biting, pulling, pushing, bruises, bleeding, broken bones.
Yeah you got some of those things in sports occasionally. Razier had them every day, sometimes to extreme measures, when she was starting out. Every day for several years everything hurt of hers when she moved. Eyes were often swollen shut, arms taped to her chest, legs unusable. That was one of the main reasons she was still standing with this poison in her system. It was nothing to her. Nothing yet anyway. The pain was bearable and she still had use of her limbs for the most part. Sure she had random times she couldn't breathe, her heart rate was elevated constantly, every muscle was stiff, every muscle was sore. Razier shrugged it off and kept going.
Now she moved in front of Manuelle swiftly and aimed one heavy punch to his gut. She might not look it, but she had quite the arm behind her girlish frame. She wasn't even using all her strength in that punch, just enough to hurt him a little, with luck knock the wind from him, piss him off enough to get him to hit back. "If that's not enough of a reason to get you to hit me I can give you a few more. Some in more uncomfortable places." She smirked and stepped back a foot so he could do the proper approach and punch if he was going to retaliate.
((uhh I was going to write more but i forgot what so... sorry. That's all there is.))

Manuelle couldn’t help but laugh when Razier said that she’d hit him. Was she crazy? There was no way she could hit him and hurt him. He had muscles made of steel…or so he thought until he felt a blow to the stomach. “Oww!” He couldn’t believe that she had that gal to hit him…or that it actually hurt. As an immediate reaction to the punch, Manny’s fists were raised in self-defense and he would have jabbed her in the jaw, but he just barely restrained himself. He couldn’t believe that he was about to fight a girl.
“Alright, alright. I’ll hit you. Just…just don’t touch the family jewels, okay? I’m very sensitive there.” He really didn’t want to hit her, but if he ever wanted to have children, he would have to. Where did you even hit a girl? Manny just sucked it up and jabbed her right in the corner of the mouth. He had a lot of pent up aggressing that flowed out through the punch. So much so, that he hit her hard. Immediately after hitting her, Manuelle felt badly for doing hit. What if she started bleeding?
“Sorry,” he said putting his fists back up incase she decided to hit him back. This had to be one of the strangest things that he’d ever done. He never hit girls. But Razier didn’t seem to be the typical girl.
OoC: AHH! That was the worst post EVER…sorry it took so long!

Razier laughed as he told her to be cautious of the 'family jewels'. It was the first time she genuinely found something he said funny, but it didn't last long. Especially when she felt his fist solidly connect with her jaw by her lip. She stumbled backwards a few feet, she hadn't been expecting it at all even though he said he'd hit her.
Her lip did split open and begin to bleed, but it wasn't too bad. She wiped it away with the back of her hand and then smirked. "Hmph, good job. Don't apologize. I literally asked for it." She came forward again and shot a fist out towards his gut while sweeping her leg around behind him to trip him up. His punch had hurt a lot, but she wasn't going to stop yet. They had a lot of work to do.
"So, was that all you had?" She asked him, hoping he'd punch her again. She realized he had the potential to be very strong, but it was resistant, especially with girls. "Most of your opponents on this island will be female. You can't hold back just because of gender. Besides, right now we could all kick your ass. Do you want that? I doubt Ace would be so nice as to fight clean. So you have to learn to fight well no matter the opponent. Got it kid?"
Razier's smirk grew as she said the word 'kid'. To her, that's what he was. He was little kid or pet who needed to be trained. He wasn't an adult, a year older than her. She raised her arms up for protection, wiping away a little more blood from her lip in the process. She had to look funny, not like a fighter at all. So everyone was someone else. Everyone had a hidden side to them that people didn't want to see for one reason or another.
Then... there were the hidden sides one didn't want to see in themselves. The weakling in Razier, the woman that was insecure and lonely. The little girl who missed her parents. The little girl who wasn't mature enough to accept Rhodes' hand in marriage. For a split second Razier wasn't paying attention. Her guard was let down as she looked over at Manuelle, wondering what side of himself he didn't like. What side of himself Razier didn't see...
((ehh that last bit might have been a bit... ill-explained... or ill-worded... if you're confused at all let me know ok? and sorry it's short paragraphs again... oh well who really cares? XP))

Manuelle immediately regretted hitting Razier once he saw the blood on her lip despite the fact that she literally asked for it. When she stumbled backward, he put his hands up again in defense in case she decided to strike again. He was about to tell her that he didn’t think he could do this when the wind was knocked out of him a second time. Manny growled a little as he curled forward then straightened back up. He would have never thought that she’d be able to hit him like that.
Razier was right (though he’d never admit it), but Manny thought that he knew how to fight already. Apparently he was wrong. There were definitely a few things she could teach him. If learning from her would prevent him from getting his ass kicked by ‘demons’ again, then he was all for it. Fighting women, however, would take some getting used to,
Kid? Did she just call him a kid? Oh HELL NO! Manuelle was ready to fight now. She knew that irked him and she said it on purpose. Without thinking, Manny swung at her stomach. This time he didn’t regret it. She wanted a fight, now she got it. He had a lot going on that no one knew about, not even Marielle, and he was a bout to let it all out through fighting.
OoC: Sorry it’s so short…

Her smirk only grew as Manuelle reeled from her blow. However it was short lived. He seemed upset with her calling him a kid, as she expected. He followed that up quickly with a hard blow to her stomach which knocked her back several feet and pushed her breath from her lungs. Razier gasped lightly and rubbed her stomach.
"Not bad, but a little wild. Wild can be good sometimes, but with a demon you need more control. They're always cool and calculating when fighting mortals. No need not to be. Thus you have to be equally focused." Razier came back, her breathing still a little ragged. "Hit me harder, but make sure you're controlling your punch."
She shoved him with one hand and then swung with her other. Razier then added a kick to his stomach to top it off. A real opponent wouldn't wait for him to hit them. They'd fight back so she was going to too. Not with too much force because she didn't want to incapacitate him, but he would have to fight injured eventually, so a small taste was in order.

Manuelle had to take this a lot more seriously than before. Razier was a much better fighter than he. Sure, he was tall and muscular, but Razier had technique, something he could learn from her. Every time he hit her he winced because he couldn’t believe he was actually doing, but like she said, fighting women would probably become a bit more common than before.
He almost wanted to roll his eyes when she gave him advice and criticism, but he knew that she was right. He had no formal training when it came to fighting. The only time he had ever really fought someone was when he caught Raquel cheating on him with Jordan. They were at a party that neither of them had the common sense to think he would attend too. Manuelle had never been more angry in his life. Even, now, the events are that night were kind of blurred because of how furious he was. What he did remember was how he beat the shit out of Jordan. He just started swinging and punching and yelling things at him that he’d never normally say.
That anger came rushing back suddenly. Razier didn’t even have to ask him to hit her harder. As soon as she kicked and punched him he swung back twice and then follwed with a hard kick. He definitely hit her harder, but had forgotten who he was hitting. “Damn Razi, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to…I just…” he sighed, frustrated and turned away from her, unsure of how she’d react.

Wham.
Razier flew back several feet and slammed into the floor as Manuelle kicked her. Normally it wouldn't have been too bad, but she was having enough trouble standing as it was with that poison in her system. Her whole chest ached terribly and she layed staring at the ceiling. She tried to get up, but it was too early as her muscles seized up.
"Um... nice strength." She wheezed. "Not so good... with the control." Razier had watched him turn his back and apologize. She laughed a little, or tried to through the pain and lack of breath. She shakily pushed herself up, willing her arms to hold her. "You just got lost in something. I could tell. No need to apologize. I'm not a baby afterall. I asked for it. I keep telling you this."
She slowly got to her feet and dusted off her pants and the back of her shirt. "Where'd you go there? Wherever it is it's not a good place obviously. It's distracting you." She walked around so she stood in front of him and gave him a questioning look. She was actually curious. She actually wanted to know. Mainly so he could get over it. He wouldn't be able to control anything if it kept getting in the way.

Should he tell her? That was a part of him that he never really talked about because it showed signs of weakness. It was what made him crack. He couldn’t crack in front of her. He was supposed to be perfect, untouchable. Manuelle didn’t know why he cared what she thought of him. She might even be understanding, but he wasn’t about to find out. “Don’t worry about it,” he said lowly. “I’m fine.” She was so strong and it made him feel so weak. He wouldn’t break in front of her.
Was he supposed to tell her that he loved a girl that didn’t love him back? Was he supposed to tell her that he cried when she broke his heart? Was he supposed to tell her that he was afraid to love again? Not on his watch. “Come on, let’s go.” He shoved her in the shoulder, indicating that he was ready to go again. He didn’t want her to harp on this even though he secretly wished that he had someone to vent to. But she was right and he shouldn’t let it get to him.

He always had to be the tough guy. Why couldn't Manuelle just stop being an idiot and admit when he was wrong, admit he wasn't perfect?! It angered her so much that he always had to be so strong. He insisted it was nothing, but Razier knew better. She knew people better than that.
Manuelle shoved her and she snapped. His invincible attitude just rubbed her the wrong way. Razier lunged at him and tackled him to the ground, punching him in the face several times. "God you are so annoying! Who are you trying to fool, Manuelle? You're not perfect and it clearly is something I should worry about. You're not fine!"
Razier sat back, but didn't get off him yet. She sighed and rested her hands on her hips as she stared down at him, most of her anger fading. Suddenly she felt pain rush through her body. She crumpled over and gasped. The pain passed though and she sat up straight again, resting her hands on his chest and applying pressure as she growled at him.
"If you don't get over this, truly get over it, you won't be any use to this island. You'll destroy it and I am not prepared to let you do that. This is my home. This is all I have left. You won't take that from me like you took my parents!" She hit his chest hard and hung her head, her hair obscuring her face. Did she just say that? His lack of control was getting to her too.
"I'm sorry. That was uncalled for. You..." Razier stood up and ran a hand through her hair. "No one is perfect you know. Everyone has their weaknesses. Mine is my parents or my charges. My inability to commit to anything but laying my life down for others, yet being all too selfish at the same time." Why was she telling him this? What was it about a guardian and their charges that made them share uncomfortable truths?
Razier wasn't as strong as everyone thought. She broke, Rhodes knew that best of all. He was there when she cried over her failure as a guardian. Both times. Not that Razier would ever speak of the first time. Not to anyone. That was her own little secret that only Rhodes knew about, seeing as they were engaged at the time. Just the thought of that though made Razier want to cry.
She pushed it aside and hugged herself as the vulnerability and more physical pain washed over her. "Whatever." She muttered, realizing it probably sounded like she was trying to make Manuelle open up. "You don't have to tell me anything, but you do have to get it off your chest somehow. Tell Marielle if you're uncomfortable talking to me. However, if you do want to tell me anything... I'll listen. Ok, kid?"
She added a small smirk as she called him kid, she was simply doing some light-hearted teasing there. Or trying to. "Alright, so let's get back to work. Is that ok with you?" She asked him, fixing her hair which was slightly messed up from all her tumbling about.

Before he knew what was happening, Manuelle was lying on his back and Razier was delivering powerful blows to his pretty face. He was so shocked by what was happening that he didn’t even have time to think about what an awkward position they were in. “God, I’m sorry just stop hitting me,” he said with a few “ouches” and “ows” in between.
Finally, the punches stopped and Manny lay under her wonder what was going to happen next. She had completely taken him by surprise so he had no idea what to expect. Suddenly he noticed an expression of pain on her face and he felt a bit concerned. He inhaled sharply as she applied pressure to his chest, but he manage to force out a few words. “Hey, are okay?” But the moment came and passed before she answered because she seemed to be okay again.
She was getting really emotional and it was a bit strange to him. “I have no intentions of destroying the island Razier. I already told you, I just want to go home as quickly as possible. If training with you will make that happen, then I’m all for it. And what do you mean. ‘took your parents’? I don’t even know them? How could I have taken them from you? I have no idea what you’re talking about.” She wasn’t making any sense and he wasn’t about to let this go.
The things she was saying to him were pretty deep and he wanted to know where they were coming from. She couldn’t honestly think that he could forget things like that. He laughed when she said to open up to Marielle. “Are you kidding? I can’t share something like this with her…I just can’t.”
“Wait a sec,” he said when she said they should get back to work. I can’t start fighting with you again. You’ve got me distracted, thinking about the things that you said.” He stood after she did, also straightening up a bit. “It seems like we both have some baggage to sort out and even though I’d be the last person you’d talk to or you I, I think we need it. I’ll share if you do…besides, training does us no good if you kill me on the first day.”

Manuelle asked how he could have taken her parents and she nearly hit herself. "I'm sorry. I swore to myself that I wouldn't mention that to you or your sister. Ever. Just forget I mentioned my parents at all if you can forget nothing else." Razier sighed, she shouldn't have opened her mouth because now he didn't want to fight. He wanted to share.
Share what? Share how she killed her charge? Granted it was by negligence and not directly, but it was still her fault. As a guardian... it never should have happened. Her job was to watch her charges constantly and protect them. Not that she had been doing a great job of that with Manuelle and Marielle either. She should watch them closer, she should have learned from the first time, but selfishly she ignored all forewarning. Stupid? Sure. Did that matter? Not much.
"I got one of my charges killed. There, you know my deep dark secret. I failed to pay attention to where they were and they got killed. Kind of like what almost happened to you and your sister. Again, because I was neglecting my duties. Want to know the worst part? I sort of don't care." Razier had walked over to the wall and now she was running her fingers over the leaves of the vines. Her eyes were trained on her moving fingers and the green.
Her stomach felt ill. One hand idly rubbed her stomah as if that might help. Tears were gathering in her eyes and one snuck down her cheek to her chin. Quickly, Razier wiped it away and leaned her head against the wall. It was all a lie. Of course it mattered. Of course she cared. Not that she could see that in herself. She didn't feel badly enough and so she thought herself a monster. Crying didn't mean anything. Hating herself didn't mean anything.
What meant something was that she wasn't able to take her life in guilt when she tried. She selfishly let herself continue to live under the pretense that living was more punishment than death. Razier gripped the vines on the wall tightly and brushed her wet cheeks over her shoulders to dry them. It didn't work for long. Suddenly though she wanted to tell him more. It was like her tears were bringing with them more baggage and telling her she had to say it. She had never said it out loud before.
Rhodes just knew, Razier never told him. "I didn't put my charges first. I don't know how I can say that they mean anything to me. I don't know why I have this responsibility. I never even asked for it. I don't want it. If my parents hadn't been guardians I would have never taken this on. Somehow I felt I owed it to them though, but... I never even knew them. They were killed when I was only one. Now I'm killing my charges with negligence and I can't expect that makes them proud."
"I might have made them proud by marrying Rhodes. Then I broke it off because he wanted me to stop being a guardian and getting myself hurt and nearly killed. I hate the job but I refused to give it up. Instead I got angry with him, threw the ring back at him... Suicidal. I couldn't kill myself so i'm a guardian in the hopes someone else will kill me." As if on cue pain washed over Razier again. She took in a sharp breath through gritted teeth.
She chuckled softly. "Ace might have succeeded. If so, she even did it right. Slow and painful." More laughter escaped from between her lips despite the sharp stabbing in her chest, arms, and legs. "I've really fucked everything up, but I can't tell you when it happened and I'm not sure how to fix it. I don't even think it can be fixed. By now I just... I don't even know what I want anymore. Nothing except... the safety of the island I guess."
Razier clenched the vines harder as more pain struck her. She let out a small cry and slid down the wall, still facing it. Before she knew it she was sobbing though she couldn't pinpoint if it was from pain or emotional turmoil yet. All she knew was she was crying in front of Manuelle, choking on the air she was trying to take in, and wishing she could stop because she looked like a fool. Razier pulled herself up and stumbled to the door, opening it and heading for the hideout door. She just had to leave.
What was she doing? Honestly?
((blahhh...))
