(open to anyone ) The sun shone brightly through the tiny window of Lilly's room. She rolled over in her bed but realized it would be useless to try to go back to sleep now. She flipped the blankets over and climbed out of the bed. Her feet landed gently on the floorboards below her as she stood up and stretched out her tired limbs. She walked over to the window and looked outside. The sky was a bright clear blue, with only a few wispy clouds scattered along it. She smiled, happy for a nice day. Walking over to her dresser, Lilly pulled out a pair of sapphire colored jeans and a slim fitting blue blouse. After scavenging around her room for a pair of socks, she slid her feet into a pair of brown boots that stopped just at her shins. Lilly turned around and walked over to her vanity. She brushed her honey brown hair until the curls fell obediently onto her shoulders. Satisfied with her appearance, she grabbed her coat and purse before walking out of the room and towards the marketplace. She wasn't looking for anything particular, more like browsing. She scanned the different vendors but found nothing incredibly intriguing. She did stop at one of her friend's stores. Lilly's friend's family owned the small bake shop down here which made some of the best brownies and cookies she had ever had. She bought a fresh blueberry muffin and continued on her stroll.

There was a large crash.
A young man turned and dashed into a street from a narrow alleyway, carrying something under his arm. "Hey get back here!" A heavy set shopkeeper followed a few feet behind, at least until his breath was knocked out of him and he was forced to slow down, keeping a steady hand on his chest in a desperate attempt to slow his racing heart.
The young thief wizzed past Remi who happened to be standing close to the center of the pedestrian road. He was barely able to keep himself standing as he just avoided the speedy thief, but others who were not as quick as him were inevitably knocked over.
Suddenly, an inevitable urge to run overcame Remi. He dashed after the thief, slaloming through the crowd as he used his speed and agility to remain close to the young boy with the stolen item underneath his arm. ooc: hope this is good enough

Lilly was walking down the street, oblivious to the world around her and lost in her own thoughts. Hmm, I wonder what I should do today. Maybe go for a walk down near the beaches? No, its a bit chilly. Maybe... but before she could finish her thought, someone slammed into her from behind, knocking Lilly to the hard ground. She gasped as the wind got knocked out of her lungs. Groaning, she sat up and looked at her hands. Tiny scratches covered her palms and dirt was caked all over the front of her shirt. What the heck just happened? she thought.
Lilly looked around and saw someone running quickly down the lane and a very disgruntled shop owner yelling. A theif! That had to be it. Following both of them was a young man, but he was moving to quick for Lilly to get a clear view of him. Lilly looked back at her hands and saw that the bleeding had increased slightly and was starting to drip from her palms. She silently cursed at the theif and at the dirt road which just had to be jagged rocks at that one spot. Just my luck... she thought.
Lilly looked around and for a second, wondered why everything seemed so much bigger. Then she realized she was still sitting in the dirt like a small child. Her cheeks flushed a light pink and she tried to stand up, making sure not to put her bloody hands on anything until she found something to clean and wrap them.

His hand reached for the back of the thief's coat, and finally, he caught it. In a quick movement and trying to prevent himself from falling, he pulled the young boy against the wall and pinned him there, waiting for the winded shop keeper to come along.
"Remi....it's me" the young boy uttered from under his breath as his face was being plastered against the brick wall. Remi's eyes widened as he thought to have recognized the voice, but soon it was not only the voice he recognized but the face as well. "What the hell are you doing?" Remi was clearly angry, not only that his old friend had resorted to stealing, but that he was in a serious dilemma...could he really give him up to the shopkeeper who would surely turn him into the authorities?
Remi only had a moment to think as he could hear the shopkeeper coming down the street, his angry voice shouting down the road. He took the box from the boy's arm and reluctantly leaned away from him, releasing the thief. "Get out of here...and if i figure out you do this again, you'll have to deal with me" Remi's eyes briefly turned pitch black as he menacingly stared down the thief who clearly knew what he was talking about.
The boy ran and dissappeared, just in time for the shopkeeper to come around. "Here....couldn't catch the thief" the shopkeeper seemed satisfied although displeased and thanked Remi for his help. Remi simply began walking back the way he came, at least until he noticed a girl on the ground whom had clearly been upset by either the thief or himself.
He walked over, unfortunately too late to help her up. "Oh..." he stepped back a bit to give her room "Hey...sorry about the mess."

Lilly looked around and saw the person who had just ran past her, was now standing in front of her. She shrugged her shoulders at his comment. "It's ok. Not your fault." She smiled up at him and chuckled. "Did you catch whoever it was?" Lilly asked the person and looked around to see any sign of the theif. Her brown eyes followed the disgruntled shop keeper and she had to fight a giggle when she saw he was clinging to the package for dear life.
She turned back to whomever was standing before her and smiled. "I'm Lillian. Lilly for short. And you are?" She almost held out her hand to shake but quickly took it back when she realized the blood was still on them. She looked around for something to wipe it off but unfortunately found nothing.

He understood it hadn't been his fault. And surely he believed it. But innately, he felt guilty for the thief...his friend --a fact that would of course remain secret-- which would only be satisfied by helping a person who had been inadvertantly affected by the event, or beating the crap out of the kid who had caused his guilt. He figured he should get over his anger/guilt before seeing the little thief again.
"No...I didn't catch him" what was he going to do....tell the truth? And possibly get himself in trouble as well as his friend? He figured it would be better to tell a little white lie, even if it would give a bad first impression of himself. He too turned his attention to the shopkeeper who was making his way back down the street.
"I'm Remi" he tried to give a smile, but it came out only half truthful. He noticed her gesture to shake his hand, the idea of which made him slightly nervous. But when he saw the blood, he had no trouble frowning. "Looks like you fell pretty hard" he stuck his own hand in his pocket and walked to a small shop. As he walked back toward her, he held a dripping cloth with which, as he took her hand lightly, he gently cleaned the cuts on her palms.

Lily smiled politely at him and nodded. "Well that's ok. He seemed to be running pretty fast," she giggled and looked away. Why am I giggling? she silently asked herself. She did acknowledge the fact that Remi, as he had introduced himself, was not bad on the eyes. In fact he was very cute. She shook her head and erased the thoughts from her head, turning back to him.
"It's nice to meet you Remi." She smiled but then watched with a puzzled expression as he walked away and into a shop. She was trying to decide whether she should stay or go, when he came back out with a dripping cloth. She smiled at him and let him take her hand to clean the cuts. She fought as hard as she could to prevent the blush from rising to her cheeks, but only managed to minimize the coloration to her delicate cheeks.
"Thank you," she said politely. She looked anywhere but his face, suddenly extremely nervous in his presence.

It took him a few minutes with the first hand, and it wasnt until he reached for the other one that he glanced toward her face and noticed the slight tint to her cheeks. Perhaps she was uncomfortable by his touch. He decided to hurry up with the second hand, although he was still as gentle as possible. Besides, this one seemed a little less bloody.
"That should be better....at least it's clean" he took a few bandages from his pockets which had had hidden when coming out of the shop and quickly wrapped the cuts.
He smiled a bit again "nice to meet you too, and you're welcome". But what now? Surely she had something to do. He wandered if it would be strange for him to hang around a bit more, since he had nothing to do and the last thing he wanted was to go find the thief that was his 'friend' and beat him up.
On top of it, his wings would not stand to be hidden for too long. He was fine for a certain amount of time, but after a bit, it began itching and some time after that, it became painful for him to keep his wings in. At least this ability allowed him to roam unconcerned throughout the village.

Lilly smiled at him and looked at her hands which were now cleaned and bandaged. She brought her brown eyes back up to meet his. "Thank you very much." She looked around again. Now what was going to happen? He must be on his way to do something whereas she was just meandering around with no definite purpose.
"If you aren't doing anything, do you want to get something to eat? My treat for helping me." Lilly smiled at him and hoped that he had nothing better to do and would come with her. But she also understood that he most likely had previous arrangements, so her hope wasn't too great.

"Thanking me once is enough" he smiled lightly as he threw away the rag and anything else he didn't need. She raised her eyes and he kept his focus away. Eye contact made him uncomfortable...although he wanted to look people in the eyes, it was nervewracking with certain people. Like this girl...certain gazes seemed as though they were looking into his soul, and that wasn't something he appreciated.
Then came her offer to lunch. He seemed suprised, and didn't hide it either. How often was it that a strange girl asked him to lunch? Well...let's just say it was unusual. He considered the amount of time he probably had before his wings would start bugging him. He didn't want to randomly come out with a pair of feathery things out of his back. That wasn't the best thing when meeting a girl for the first time --he didn't know much about women, but he knew that much.
"I suppose...yea, that would be nice" he was hungry after all...and why not go to lunch with her?
ooc: move the thread somewhere?

Her cheeks flushed a tad bit brighter but she tried to hide it, pulling her hair slightly closer to her face. She shrugged her shoulders and just smiled. "I tend to thank people or apologize alot, just so you know."
She noticed his surprise when she asked him to lunch. Was that too forward? she thought nervously. Her worries were silenced for the moment however when he accepted her offer. She smiled at him gratefully, though eye contact wasn't exactly being made. She didn't mind though. It was making her less nervous. If he locked eyes with her, she feared she would turn into a puddle beneath his feet. What was coming over her? Not having too many male encounters was starting to take its toll on her. She definetly needed to get out more.
Snapping back to reality, she looked around. Her eyes scanned the shops, trying to decide where they should go. She grinned when her eyes rested on a sign swinging back and forth in the gentle breeze. Thompson's Restaurant/Pub. They had some of the best food in the Village and was a popular place to go. Plus it wasn't outrageously expensive and had a homely feel.
Lilly turned back to Remi and pointed at it. "Great. Thompson's ok with you? My friend works as a waitress there so I go alot. The food is really good. Have you ever been before?"
((umm where do u wanna move it lol?)

"Well no more thanking....or apologizing today, alright? Or else you'll be in trouble" he couldn't think of something to threaten her with off the top of his head, but of course, by the expression on his face --a strange grin-- it was obvious he was joking. There was a short, awkward silence as she thought. He didn't want to burst out with something stupid, so he simply waited, placing his hands in his pockets to occupy himself.
"Yea, sounds fine" he looked at the pub and began walking to toward the place "No....i don't think i've ever been there, but i've heard about it." he wasn't used to eating out much, but he wasn't complaining to being treated, that is, if he would let her treat him.
He took a seat at the nearest available table there was. The place wasn't real crowded, so it didn't take long. "So you're friend works here?" he thought for a moment, having no idea what to order...or even what they served in this place. It wasn't long before a waitress approached the table. And she wasn't bad looking, he couldn't help but notice these things although he was a guy who usually kept to himself....then again, neither was Lilly.
"What are you going to have?" he asked Lilly, trying to get inspiration from whatever she was going to order. He looked at the waitress briefly, avoiding eye contact of course.

Lilly feigned a shocked and fearful expression at his threat, but couldn't hold back a laugh at his grin. He is too adorable she thought as she looked away. When he agreed, she started walking. "Come on then," she said giving him a smile over her shoulder.
He caught up with her pretty well, beating her to the pub. She followed him inside and to the table. As she sat down, she looked around to see if Natalie was working. She didn't see anyone yet and turned back to Remi. She was just about to answer his question when she noticed movement in the corner of her eye. As the waitress approached, a large smile spread across Lilly's face.
"Hey Nat!" she said smiling at her friend. "Hey Lil. What are you up to? And who is your friend?" "Natalie, this is Remi. Remi this is my friend Natalie." The waitress smiled at Remi. "Nice to meet you Remi. Keeping my girl company? Good pick. Well here are your menus. I'll be back in a few minutes to get your order."
Lilly brought her hand to her face, attempting to mask the blushing color that was beginning to spread across her cheeks. She shook her head slightly at her friend's antics. Natalie was always bugging her about not going on dates and such. That was where their opposites came into play. Natalie was very popular amongst the boys here whereas Lilly generally kept to herself.
She turned back to Remi and gave him a small smile. "That's Natalie for you. She's a little...excited if she sees me here with someone other than a book." Lilly shrugged her shoulders and looked down at the menu trying to decide what she wanted. After a moment, she decided on a chicken roll-up.
"Anything look good to you? I think I'm going to get the chicken roll-up."

"Thanks" his lips curled into a half smirk as he glanced toward Lilly and noticed her cheeks red again. "You blush a lot don't you" maybe he shouldn't have said that...that would probably make her blush more. But it seemed true for the few minutes he had known her...she had already blushed twice. Wait...was that because of him? He thought he might be getting onto something, but perhaps he was reading too much into this.
He shook a hand through his hair and leaned back in his chair. He brought the menu to his face in order to see the words printed on the sheet. "uhh....I'll just have the same as you do" he thought about it and a chicken roll-up sounded fine to him. "So you read a lot huh?" she was clearly a reserved person, but so was he. The problem was that...right at this moment, he wasn't really feeling like himself, simply because he was concealing something from her.
It was at that moment that he felt a scratching feeling at the edge of his shoulder blades. ugh..not now.

Lilly just shook her head, but stared directly at Remi. "Unfortunately it doesn't take much to make me blush. It must have been genetic or something, though I wouldn't exactly know." Lilly grew quiet and looked away from him, not wanting to continue with that discussion. Her family was a very touchy subject, one that she usually got very defensive about.
Instead, she answered his question regarding her reading habits. "Yes I read alot. I like escaping from reality for a while. Books are the perfect way. They provide, oh I don't know, they just help me forget about stuff I guess."
Lilly lightly drummed her fingers on the table, not knowing what else to say. She thought for a moment and realized that she had told him things about her, but not vice versa. "So what about you? I don't recognize you. Do you live around here?"
