Remi seemed comfortable listening to what she had to say. It was almost as if he could detect the very moment she became tense about something, the moment her tone of voice was altered so very slightly that he knew he shouldn't approach a certain subject. But that was no problem. He never liked answering questions, so he never really thought to ask them.
So what about you? I don't recognize you. Do you live around here?
He suddenly became tense, but he hid it well. His eyes widened slightly however, as he realized he was probably making a fool of himself by not knowing what to answer. It really wasn't that often that he found himself talking....about himself. And it was only now that he was realizing it. He was obviously not prepared for this, although it was probably the most obvious question in the world.
"Uh...not exactly...I kind of just strolled into town." LIE. The word was so clear in his head that it was as if the letters were imprinted on the table, big and fat and obvious to see. Who would want to know about him? Oh right...she didn't even know who he was. People usually weren't so shocked to see a fallen angel...not until they saw what he could do --which he never demonstrated by the way. "I'm a bit of a loner myself."

Lilly was glad he didn't push the subject. She had hoped he hadn't noticed her sudden discomfort and was glad to see he didn't...or at least didn't let on. She nodded her head when he told her that he had just strolled into town. A lot of people did that around here, each with their own story of how they came to arrive on the island. Some didn't always like sharing their stories...Lilly found that out first hand.
Since then she had learned not to push. If they wanted to tell her their story, she would listen. If not, well, she wouldn't ignore them either. She shrugged her shoulders when he mentioned being a loner. "Being a loner isn't that bad." The truth of the matter was that Lilly was as close to being a loner as it gets, except for the fact that her best friend was her family.
Hers had left her here all alone, oblivious to her needs and more attentive to their own. They hadn't wanted a kid so they just dumped her into a boat with some random person...then their ship got stuck in a storm and well...Lilly felt her eyes tearing up slightly as she recalled the memory but she quickly wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. She glanced up at Remi and prayed that he hadn't noticed.

ooc: i have NO muse
He remained in his own little world as he thought of what to tell her....of what she should know about him. He was getting terribly uncomfortable. He had held in his wings for too long, and the slight tingly feeling behind his shoulder blades was beginning to rear up. Oh how he hated that feeling.
"I suppose" he was rather suprised at that statement. "It's alright most of the time, but sometimes it's nice to have some company" he smiled lightly, glancing toward her only for a second. He wasn't sure what to say any more, but he knew he would have to make an excuse to leave soon.

Lilly nodded in response to his comment. He was right. Having company every once in a while was nice. She was beginning to grow so accustomed to living on her own that she forgot what it was like to do things with other people, even if it just meant spending time with them doing nothing.
She felt her lips curl into the slightest of smiles when he glanced up at her. Finally some bit of eye contact, she thought. Though she couldn't blame him...Lilly wasn't one for much eye contact either...yet.
(eek mine sucks sorry)
