The moon glowed softly in the night sky, illuminating the field in front of her. Juliet strolled through the grassy earth deep in thought. Her white skirt billowed slightly around her as she walked, brunette hair bouncing gently off her bare shoulders. Her parents had told her it was dangerous to walk around at night, especially if she was alone, but Juliet wanted out of the safety of her land for just one night at least.
She continued walking until she reached her spot. When she wanted to escape for a while, she would come to this spot. All it was, was an old oak tree but it seemed to soothe her when she needed it most. Although nothing particularly was wrong, Juliet just wanted to escape reality for a moment. She was getting tired of being the good little girl, being daddy's little girl. All she wanted was a little spice to her life, a little risk.

There was a young elven boy not far off sitting on a rock. Rowan too knew it wasn't safe to be out at night, but that's why most of the time he would wait until the moon came out. The bright white orb would light up the field and make so one could see quite easily. What he liked the best though, was the special flowers that only bloomed in the moon light. His deep blue eyes stared at the beautiful flowers blooming in the moonlight. Each petal glowed with radiance as it reflected the silver light.
He was suddenly started by the sound of footsteps. He snapped out of his 'day' dreaming, and then whipped around to see who it was. When he saw that it was an angel he relaxed and took his hand off the bow that was draped on his back. He watched as the angel walked over to an old oak tree, though he stayed silent not having enough confidence to say anything.

Juliet stared around her, smiling contently to herself. She loved coming out here at night and seeing the beauty of which only the night possessed. The flowers in the field bloomed delicately, glowing in the bright moonlight. She looked around her again and froze when she saw the silhouette of a person.
Her brown eyes squinted as she tried to get a better view, but only the outline was visible. She stood up defiantly and called out into the night, praying that her voice would not waver and show the fear that was coursing through her veins.
"Whoever is out there, show yourself."

Rowan watched her sit under the oak tree, though he was zoning out enough that he didn't notice that she began to look in his direction. What he did notice, though was that she suddenly stood up.
Whoever is out there, show your self.
That's a strange thing to say, he thought to himself, not understanding the situation from Juliet's point of view. At first he did not know how to respond, so he sat on the rock perplexed. Then he suddenly hopped off the rock, and proceded to wildly wave his arms in the air and jump up and down. "I'm right here!" He yelled making sure she knew where he was.

Juliet continued to look in the person's direction, anticipating whether or not she was actually seeing someone or if her senses were betraying her. She let out a startled cry when she finally saw someone jumping up and down waving their arms around.
"I'm right here!"
She jumped back slightly and brought her hand to her chest, her heart fluttering quickly under her palm. She took a deep breath and composed herself. She took a step forward towards the person. She tried to think of what she should do. If it was someone dangerous, would they really have just jumped out like that? Or maybe it was all a trick to lure her in.
Juliet was in a very difficult position. Should she risk it and go towards the person, or stay where she was. She decided to go with her second option, but nevertheless continued her pursuit of identifying the person before her. "Who are you?"

Maybe I yelled a little to loud. Rowan thought to himself after he noticed her jump back. He knew that the angel knew where he was but since she didn't seem to be moving any more Rowan was thinking of stepping forward.
"Who are you?"
After she asked that question he made up his mind and decided to walk up to her. The sword he had dangling at his left side swayed back and forth as he walked. "My name's Rowan, and I'm an elf." He said to the angel, this time not yelling so much. As he got closer, he was able to make out the Angel's face and notice her not so happy expression. "Hello." He said as he stuck out his hand in greeting.

Juliet held her ground as she watched the person fully emerge from the shadows. She felt slightly uneasy when she saw the sword dangling from his side, put he didn't seem as though he would use it yet. He introduced himself as Rowan, and an elf. She let out a relieve breath, pleased that he was not a vampire or demon. She smiled at him and took his hand.
"I'm Juliet. And an angel if you couldn't already tell," she added with a slight laugh and a gesture to her white wings. "What are you doing out here? It's kinda dangerous..." As soon as the words left her lips, she felt foolish. Who was she to ask him that when here she was as well.
"Well that is kind of a stupid statement huh." She laughed quietly again, but waited to hear why he was out here. Juliet had a very curious nature, though occasionally it got her into trouble.

Juliet, that's a pretty name. Juliet the angel. After she introduced herself Rowan said Juliet's name over in his mind a couple of times so he wouldn't forget it. Juliet asked him why he was here and mentioned how dangerous it was. "I don't think it was a stupid statement. I am a kid and most adults don't think kids can't take care of themselves, though that's what I have this stuff for..." He said referring to his sword and bow 'n' arrows. "...to protect myself."
"What I was doing out here though, was looking at the flowers. There are special flowers in this field that only bloom in moon light. They are very pretty." Rowan said finally answering Juliet's question as to why he was out here. "And how about you? Why are you out here? It's probably just as dangerous for you to be out here, if not more." Rowan had been living in the forest not to far from this spot for a long time by now and so he knew the area very well. With how long he had been living you would of thought that he would be older than a child by now but their are certain ancient magics which keep him young.

Juliet agreed with him about his statement. Adults always thought that they couldn't take care of themselves. Juliet was the youngest in her family and had fallen victim to that testament quite often. Everyone thought she couldn't take care of herself. That is why she had snuck out of the city and to the fields. She wanted a little danger or risk. She was tired of playing it safe.
"The flowers are beautiful," she agreed and looked around her. "I'm out here because...well because I'm tired of playing it safe. I wanted to break the rules for at least one night. It gets really boring with your parents treating you like your an infant all the time."
Juliet was fourteen now put her parents treated her with such delicacy that one would think she was six or so. Juliet sighed and looked up into the moon's glow. Just as she did, a star shot across the sky. An innocent grin played across her face and she looked at Rowan. "Quick make a wish!"

"So, your as much as an individual as me?" Rowan asked. Juliet's reason for coming out here was about the same as his when he first chose to run away into the forest. He has lived mainly alone ever since and he has been doing just fine. How's that for "not being able to take care of himself"?
"Quick make a wish!
At hearing that Rowan looked up to see the shooting star fly across the sky. A wish. What do I wish for? I wish... Rowan thought about it for a second and the he closed his eyes and began to wish. I wish that me and Juliet could go on an adventure together. After he finished he opened his eyes and smiled at Juliet.

"I guess you could say that," she said with a grin. She shut her eyes tight and made her wish. After she was finished, she opened them and looked back at Rowan. "Did you make one?" she said with a giggle. She didn't know how or why, but suddenly she was energized...as though the shooting star had somehow rebooted her power supply and awoken her senses.
She smiled at Rowan again and laughed. He's going to think I'm crazy, she thought but shrugged it away. She was an energetic person...who cares if someone thinks she's a little crazy. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. She gave Rowan a sly grin and took off running. When she was about 10 yards away, she stopped and put her hands on her hips.
"Well? Are you coming?" she asked, her voice cracking ever so slightly at the hint of another laugh.

"Do flying pigs fly?" He said with a burst of energy of his own. "Of course I made a wish." In a situation like this there probably wouldn't have been one child who would have passed up the chance to make a wish, Rowan sure wouldn't.
He was a little confused by the sudden sly expression that crept up onto Juliet's sweet face, though he didn't have time to think about it before Juliet started to run off. "Hey! Where are you going?" He yelled out knowing that some sort of game was going to begin by the amount Juliet was laughing.
"Well? Are you coming?"
"Why of coarse!" He yelled in answer. "Do you really think I would just stand here staring at you like some dumb adult?" He finished before he ran after her, doing a somersault before starting into a full sprint. The sword and bow 'n' arrows bounced with every stride and the grass blades of the field swayed in the sudden rush of wind as he closed the distance between himself and Juliet.
