((invite only...and I have permission to godmod))
Aiden had to admit to himself, however much he'd like to be biting her lip, she did a very cute job of it. He removed his hand from her hair and ran his index finger along her jawline, giving her a crooked grin again. He followed her gaze to the sky, too, and judged that they only had a few more hours together before the sun would turn him to dust. He was incredibly glad, therefore, that he'd honed his skill with speed more than any of the other vampiric "superpowers" he possessed.
"Don't worry," he said, looking back down at her eyes, "I'll have you back in time. It's not that far when you run as fast as me." With that, he scooped her up, tossed her as gently as he could over his shoulder, potato-sack style, and set off at a run for the interior of the island.
Shortly after he started, dodging every obstacle in his path and trying very hard not to jostle her around too much, the mountains became visible; minutes later, he was in the foothills; and, in a total of about 10-12 minutes, Aiden and Lilly were very high up on a mountain. He stopped at an outcropping that ended in a sheer drop but had more than enough room for them to sit or stand comfortably. They were still below the treeline, so he figured she'd have enough air to be comfortable.
Very gently, Aiden removed Lilly from his shoulder, and held her bridal-style for a minute. "Sorry if that was at all painful," he said, smiling at her, "but it got us here in no time. What do you think?" He turned his body so that she could see the view; from their perch, Aiden calculated that they could see almost the whole of the island, excepting only what lay on the other side of the mountains. He wasn't really sure whether or not he should put her down--she might still be shaken from the trip, and, frankly, he didn't want to put her down. He would if she asked, though, however reluctant he was to let her go.

Once again a small shiver crept down her spine as he dragged his finger gently across her jawline. He had an effect on her that she had experience since...well since forever. She smiled at him and was reassured when he said they would be back in time. She was about to say something when all of a sudden she found herself slung over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. She let out a laugh but stopped as soon as he started running.
She could tell he was trying not to jostle her around too much but she still felt a little queasy. Everything blurred past her making her light-headed. She squeezed her eyes shut and buried her face in her arms. She leaned in as close as she could to Aiden, fearful that she was going to hit something.
After what felt like ages to her, she realized they had stopped. Slowly, she peaked out from her arms and looked around her. She took a deep breath and inhaled the crisp mountain air, a smile gracing her lips. Aiden had now removed her from his shoulder and was holding her bridal style. She looked up and smiled at him once more before climbing down from his arms.
She walked a few feet away and stared out. "It's beautiful," she whispered. She turned around and smiled at Aiden again. She walked over and kissed his cheek softly. Then she leaned closer to his ear and whispered "thank you." She looked up at him and smiled before turning back to the view in front of her. She looked around and saw a large boulder. She walked over and sat down on it, thrilled at the beauty that lay before her.

Aiden was...well..."sad" is the only word for it, when she left his arms. Having her there had made him feel strong, something he hadn't experienced since his turning. Too many times older vampires had picked on him, too many times he'd been hit and not been able to hit back as hard. That kind of weakness, helplessness, was the worst feeling in the world to him. Even worse than being alone.
He got over it, though, as soon as she came back and kissed his cheek. "You're welcome," he mumbled back, considering the action while she walked over to the boulder. He realized that he'd never been kissed on the cheek by a girl before, excepting his mother more than a year ago...Aiden quickly shook that thought from his head. He didn't want to think about that; all he needed to know was that he was hear, on a mountainside, alone with a girl who made him feel good, something he hadn't felt in a long time.
Scanning the edge of the world for a minute, Aiden, too, could appreciate the same beauty she saw. This was their home, whether they liked it or not; at least it was beautiful.
Then he sauntered his way over to the boulder where she sat, and flopped down onto the ground next to it. He rested his head on the rock but leaning against her leg, and let his legs unfold and extend in front of him. Aiden tilted his head back slightly to look up at her and flash a grin. "See? Toldja it wasn't too far. There's your village," he added, moving his gaze from her and pointing to their left at a small cluster of very few lights at the edge of the forest.

Lilly heard him move behind her and tried not to grin as he sat down next to her. He was resting against her leg which sent a rush of blood through her. Even the slightest touch from him drove her crazy. She bit her lip once more, a habit he must realize by now.
He pointed out the village and she squinted her eyes. Sure enough, she could see a few lights flickering from here. She looked down at him and saw that he had been looking up at her with a grin. She grinned back at him and rested a hand on his shoulder for support.
She slid off the rock so that she was sitting on the ground next to him. She kissed his cheek once more before resting her head on his shoulder. "It's beautiful out here. You know, I take it for granted sometimes. I get too caught up in things to notice the world around me."
She tried to stiffle a yawn but it didn't exactly work. Why do I have to be tired now? she thought as she fought to keep her eyes open. Now wasn't the time she wanted to fall asleep. Her eyes continued to droop however and soon she felt herself drift into a light sleep...

Aiden had put his head back in its normal position so that he could stare out at the farthest reaches of the Atlantic that touched the horizon, and he felt first her hand on his shoulder, and then her sliding off the rock. He grinned his lopsided grin in gratitude for the second kiss, while discreetly slipping his arm around her waist. He'd been planning on tickling her, but he saw her yawn, and knew without looking that she'd drifted off to sleep; her heartbeat and breath had both slowed noticeably.
Aiden's chest tightened, which was bothersome; he felt needed and strong again because she fell asleep on him, which was all well and good, but there were other emotions accompanying those, and they made him uncomfortable because he didn't understand them. It was hard to comprehend that which he'd never experienced before.
Thus, he chose not to think about it, and instead focused part of his attention on the scene spread out before him, and the other part on the warm, delicate creature using his shoulder for a pillow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few hours passed, and the two of them were still in that position. Aiden had been looking down at her for some time, just thinking, trying to understand himself; but then he glanced up, and noticed that the sky had lightened significantly. There was no appearance of the sun yet, but he guessed he had about 45 minutes before the first rays of death would hunt for him.
"Hey," he said softly, pinching her side lightly with the hand that still rested there, attached to the arm wrapped around her, "wake up, sleepyhead."

Lilly felt something pinch her side and she squirmed, a small smile falling across her face and a little laugh escaping her mouth. "Hey that tickled," she mumbled as she snuggled closer to her pillow...which wasn't actually one. She sat up quickly and realized where she was. She was still on the mountain. She was still with Aiden. She turned back at him and smiled. Then she noticed how much easier it was for her to see him.
She looked around and saw that the sky was light now and the sun would be rising soon. Fear gripped her as she faced him again. "Oh no! We have to go now! I don't want you to get hurt. I can probably find my way back if it'll take too long for you to take me," she said. The last thing she wanted was to leave him but if it meant that he would get hurt or...die, then she would deal.
She stood up and brushed the dirt from her backside. She looked around and tried to see if there was a path that would lead her straight back to the village. She didn't see one. Oh this will be fun, she thought.

Aiden smiled softly when she squirmed, and complained of him tickling her--he'd use her ticklishness to his advantage later. For now, he had to keep himself controlled while she snuggled against him, and he fleetingly wished he was mortal, or at least a daywalker, so he wouldn't have to hide from the sun.
He stayed still while she jumped up and brushed herself off, rambling on about her not wanting him to get hurt, and trying to find her own way off the mountain. "Oh no," he protested, standing and brushing off his jeans, "you're not going out there alone. You'll be safe from vampires during the day, but lycans and demons still have the ability to roam around. I can just carry you back; I've got about 45 minutes, and the Vampire City won't take me longer than 20 minutes to get to from the mortal village.
"Come on," he said, motioning for her to come closer so that he could lift her onto his shoulder again and go.

Lilly walked towards him when he told her too. "Really, I'll be fine. I can probably make it." She realized how funny that seemed. She wouldn't be able to fight off a lycan or a demon. Not a chance in the world. She found it amusing that he wouldn't let her go on her own and was glad to feel like he cared about her. She smiled, but bent her head acknowledging defeat. "Ok ok, you win."
She reluctantly got close enough for him to pick her up again but before he did, she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. "Thank you for tonight." she said in his ear before pulling back and smiling at him. She took a deep breath and braced herself to be flung over his shoulders.

As amusing as her stubborness was, Aiden was glad when she submitted and came over to him. Her smile made him smile, and he was about to pick her up when she hugged him.
At first he was suprised, and so didn't react other than every muscle in his body tensing. But he relaxed after a second, and his hands slid across the small of her back as he returned the short embrace. "You're welcome. I'm free Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, for encores," he answered jokingly when she pulled away.
Then, he picked her up and slinged her over his right shoulder again, and whispered, "Hold on tight, and trust me," before running and jumping off the edge of the outcropping.
The drop was long, and he felt weightless for much of it, but he landed on his feet gracefully and without much resistance from the earth. Aiden took off at top speed then, darting through the foothills and then trees, and reached the village in only 10 minutes.
He put her down slowly and gently, and, hoping she wouldn't fall over by accident, held her by the waist for a minute while looking down at her eyes. "Well, sadly, I must take my leave now--don't worry, though. I'll come back tomorrow night." With a smile, he leaned in and kissed her softly on the forehead, and then began running away from the village. He only jogged at first, so that he could glance back and smile at her one more time before really running back to his "home."
