The frigid air would have dissuaded anyone from climbing a mountain, not to mention that it was only left to the insane to do so in the middle of the night. Then again, Nolwenn was all but sane. She could indeed see her breath even in the darkness, but it seemed more like cigarette smoke that she could bend into whatever shape she wanted than anything else. A sudden breeze tried to halt her journey as she conquered yet another rocky hill on her way to the top, but it didn't even slow her down. Her dark clothes blended perfectly with the night's color, since any brightness, even subtle, would attract attention underneath these starry skies. The moon was but a thin crescent in the sky which gleamed around the pupils of her eyes which carefully searched her surroundings.
There was the lightest of rumbles to her right. Her attention was immediately focused on that spot and her body hidden in the nearest shadow. This was more of a game to her than a question of survival. Hunt or be hunted. She was usually one to like the first one best. Alas, it was only a little rock dislodged by the sudden gust which had tumbled into the deep abyss which was the valley. She almost wished someone would show up...just to add a little spice to the evening.
Finally she reached the top...so dark, so beautiful. It almost seemed like a dream, being here again. How ironic. She laughed at herself at the thought of her past in this spot. That demon who showed seemingly out of nowhere. Then again, that is what demons do, isn't it?
"Dear sister, if you have thrown me into one of your dreams again, I simply won't have any choice but to be mad at you" she closed her eyes as another breeze passed and played violently with her blonde hair. Could it be her sister creating this strange feeling of nostalgia in her heart...recreating the exact circumstances of that fated encounter? No, she would be able to tell. Then again...her powers could have grown.
She spread her arms out to each side as she stood within inches from a deathly drop into the darkness below. As if she would jump....would she? She lifted her head to the skies and opened her eyes and mouth, and with a strange, almost maniacal laugh, a tornado of flames shot out from between her rows of blade-like teeth and came down, splitting into ropes of fire to dance around her body.
