It was getting sundown when Taylor finally made it to the so called "Mortal Village" If any of his command survived, this was the place they would have been sent to. Sighing, and carrying his bulky gear, he walked in, looking out for his 'brothers'. As he sighted the area, he was met with strangeness, either with the apparel, or the items, even with the attitude. Taylor did not know what to make of it, but still pressed on, hoping to find someone, anyone, who could explain things to him.

What a day, thought Arinada anxiously. After the fight at the lake, and the episode at the Temple, she'd gone back to the castle and taken a nap. Sleep, she'd found, was very helpful in such situations; it gave one time to just lie in comfortable ignorance of the world for a little while. She'd made sure the castle was in order before sleeping for a few hours, though. It would have been irresponsible of her not to, and as a leader, she had to put her people first.
Of course, she considered cynically, I doubt I'll do my people much good if I'm overloaded with stress. But Arinada knew she could handle it--she always did.
After waking up, though, she became restless, and decided to visit the mortal village. Arinada had an affinity for the stranded mortals on the island; some thought she was kind to care about them, while others thought it was foolish to think of them. Not that she cared. Arinada would help any who needed it, even her enemies--of course, she'd be on her toes in that situation, but it rarely occured. The sun was setting, and the nighttime was the most dangerous for the mortals here. Vampires and demons prowled at night, and she knew many of them enjoyed torturing, maiming, and killing mortals in their spare time.
As she emerged from the forest, Arinada spotted a lone man making his way to the village, carrying quite a bit of luggage. I wonder if he needs help, she wondered, calling on the wind to lift her into the air and bring her to his side in seconds. Arinada landed a few feet away from him and the gusting winds around her died; once they'd gone and he would hear her easier, she asked, "Do you need any help with that?"
