She had killed. A human.
Damn it Cj, how could you let yourself be so stupid!! she had cursed herself all the way back to the castle. There was just no changing what she had done, but she couldn't figure out whether she could ever accept it as something that was over and done with. How could vampires live with this? This guilt of killing....tens, maybe even hundreds of people? Did they even feel guilt? And if they didn't, then why was she? Maybe it was because she was a young vampire. She wiped away tears streaming down her face. She had to stop. This was no proper behavior. And besides, she had to prepare herself for the eventuality that Shane might yell at her for having run off like that.
So far so good. She had encountered no one in the hallways. It was like the place was deserted. There were strange smells, some that she knew she would never have been able to pick up as a human. But what did they mean? She'd have to learn that soon enough. She found herself at the bottom of a large staircase, and suddenly full of energy. She wondered. She ambitiously looked at the balcony up there and took a few steps back.
With a fast sprint, she took a leap into the air and landed on the balcony at least. Unfortunately, she was not able to catch herself on her feet, and fell almost face down on the floor. At least it didn't hurt. That definately a plus. Stupid rug she blamed the rug for tripping her, although she knew full well that it was her idiotic fault for thinking she could actually jump that high and that fast.
She looked around. The hallway looked familiar.....looked...that was the key word. There was a familiar scent. She had a feeling she was near Shane's room, but couldn't quite remember which way to go. She started on the right, keeping close to the walls and desperately hoping that no one would spot her. Why did they need all these wierd decorations anyway? She curiously eyed the strange things that jutted out of the wall. Was that an armor? She stopped for a moment.
