Her eyes fluttered open. Her hand which happened to be lying near her face gently reached for her forehead, expecting a throbbing sensation to arise. But it never came. Her eyes scanned the room as she remained on her back for a moment. She didn't recognize anything, and couldn't help but wonder where she was. It seemed pleasant enough, so she wasn't really alarmed for some reason.
There was a strange smell as she inhaled suddenly. She sat up with a slight moan and looked around the room. She examined the bed upon which she had woken up and was clearly confused. Still, she recognized nothing. The smell became more prominent, and somehow attractive. She thought it was her for a moment, but soon she realized it was actually her clothes. She frowned...strange.
She should have been tired. At least, it felt as though she should. But as she stood on her legs for the first time...in ages it seemed, she realized her muscles didn't feel tired at all. In fact, she felt a burst of energy rush through her. Arms high above her head, she stretched upward, pushing herself onto her toes. She then took a few steps into the room, her curiosity inciting her to try and find a clue as to where she was and what had happened. She vaguely remembered the shore at night.... the cold...and then Shane. She stopped as she thought of him. She then remembered the pain and felt sick at the thought of it. In fact, she put a hand to her stomach as though to throw up, but didn't.
She made her way to a mirror after a moment, having not noticed the unusual paleness of her hands. But as she peeked at her face, she was shocked by her pallor. She looked as white as a corpse...her eyes were of such a dark color and her lips bright red. She stepped back suddenly, inevitably tripping on herself and unable to catch herself before hitting the floor. "Well, glad to see I'm still clumsy." she mumbled. She didn't bother to get up, but sat with her legs crossed and held her face in her hands. What in the world happened to me? she shook her head lightly, refusing to believe what she had just seen in the mirror. This couldn't be happening.

Shane hummed to himself as he did every morning as he brushed his teeth. After spitting and rinsing, he dried his mouth and admired his sparkly teeth in the mirror. Ever since the incident with CJ, his fangs had retracted back to regular length and his skin was no longer deathly pale. It had just a little bit of life in it. He would stay this way so long as he wasn’t thirsty.
Once leaving the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waste he walked into his large closet to find something to wear. Shane took some black jeans and a baby blue t-shirt off their respective hangers and pulled a pair of boxers out a drawer. He got dressed and headed back out to his bedroom. Shane stopped when he entered his room for something wasn’t right. CJ wasn’t on his bed anymore. Feeling panic rush over him, Shane started to look around for her. His room was big enough for CJ to be somewhere and not be visible to him.
Following everything that had happened that night Shane brought CJ back to the castle. Lucky for him no one was away and it was easy to get her up to his bedroom. The hard part was keeping her hidden in there for all this time. He had ordered the housekeeping not to clean his room and he locked her in there whenever he left. At night he slept on the sofa in his lounge area and as a result he experienced a great discomfort in his back. But his discomfort was nothing to the discomfort that she must be feeling and he was sure that it was only going to get worse until she was able to adjust.
After rounding a corner he spotted her sitting on the floor with her head in her hands. He didn’t want to startle her, but now that she was awake he had a lot of explaining to do…that is, if she didn’t try to run away and actually give him a chance to explain things to her. Shane approached her slowly and cleared his throat. “Um…you’re up…Don’t freak. Just give me a chance to tell you what’s going on.” He stood there as if bracing himself for some kind of shriek or scream.

She felt as though she should be crying. But she couldn't for some reason. Her hands were so cold, but so was her face so she couldn't really tell the difference. As she sat there on the ground, she couldn't get it out of her mind that her clothes smelled so strange. Was it because she was a vampire that she could smell it? Was she just dreaming? Was she even really a vampire? She really hoped the answer to that last one was no.
She heard a voice behind her and remained there without moving for a moment. There was no mistaking that voice. It was that vampire, Shane if she could remember correctly. That had to be it...after all, how could she ever forget him? He must have been the one to turn her. He must have. She should've been angry, but she couldn't bring herself to stand up and yell at him. After a moment, she pushed her hand away and turned slightly to be able to see him from the corner of her eye. Was he really concerned? He had said he wouldn't bite her the night before...he had played her, and she had been a fool to believe even for a fraction of a second that she might be able to believe she was safe with him. But now that she was a vampire, what could he do to her? Not much, right?
She finally stood up in a swift movement, but didn't dare to look at him again. She didn't scream, simply because she wasn't scared of him. She wasn't sure why. Maybe her new state had given her guts or something. But in any case, with a decisive stride, she walked straight for the door, opened it and walked out. Upon going into the hallway, she heard voices and slowed her pace. Looking over the ramp which offered a view of a downstairs, she noticed two slim figures which were obviously vampires. She gulped down furiously and made her way back into Shane's room. She closed the door behind her and walked right up to him, not daring to look at his face.
"Where am I?" she gulped down lightly, but didn't look that afraid. She hadn't screamed at least. "I get what...you made me into" she seemed a little bitter at those words, but kept going "But did you bring me here? And why?"

“Ok, good,” Shane thought to himself when CJ didn’t freak out. But what was even weirder was the way she was acting. He had expected her to be scared or in denial, but she was calm and accepting. Maybe this would be easier than he thought.
When she walked out of the room Shane began to panic. Somebody would see her and he would get into a ton of trouble. Before he had the chance to say anything she walked back inside and Shane exhaled loudly. “Just…don’t leave the room, okay? No one knows that you’re here.” His head would surely be on the chopping block if any one found out that he had been keeping her in his room for so long.
Shane cleared his throat again. He wasn’t sure how she would take the next thing that he had to say. “Um…I’m really really sorry for doing this to you. I had no intentions of biting you that night, but after you cut your finger I couldn’t control myself. You’ll come to understand that feeling soon enough.” Self-control would come with years of being a vampire and it was something that he hadn’t mastered yet. “I brought you here because if I left you there alone you wouldn’t have survived. And I know that you probably hate me and you have every reason to, but you have to trust me and let me help you. It’s the least I can do after…what I did.”
Shane realty didn’t know what else to say and he felt like a babbling idiot. “If you have any questions or if you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask me.” It was funny how things worked. He had been a complete jerk to her before all of this happened and now his ego had deflated to the size of a rice grain and he was being an angel…at least for now. For right now though, all he wanted was her cooperation so that they could figure out a ‘solution’ for their ‘little problem’.

occ: oh yea, i'm totally gonna hate you cuz it's horrible... *rolls eyes* What are you talking about? lol it is not horrible at all She listened carefully and silently as he answered her questions, at least some of them. She still had no idea where she was but almost forgot about that when he talked about why he had brought her here and the fact that she had the right to hate him.
She walked around him and collapsed on the bed, closing her eyes and burrying her face in the sheets. She wanted to go back to sleep again...maybe even forever, not have to deal with what was going on. I'm being such a child she thought to herself, and decided that she would deal with her new state....eventually.
"I can't hate you" she sighed, trying to hold back tears. It wasn't really his fault....well, sort of but not really. But it wasn't her fault either. After all, how could she have predicted that she would pull a piece of glass out from the sand. There was no blame to attribute to anyone, and that almost made it harder. "I'm just scared" those last words were completely muffled by the covers, but she hadn't really intended to say that outloud. That had been a slip, and once she realized she had actually said it, she hoped he hadn't heard it. I'm such a wimp.
It wasn't really the actual fact that she was a vampire that scared her. No, she could probably deal with that much. Her real fear was for the people she might encounter...the people she cared about. What if she couldn't control herself, just like Shane? What if she ended up killing sombody's father, just like hers had been killed by a blood lusting creature? She couldn't very well deal with that possibility. There was no way she could accept inflicting such pain in a person.
"Tell me" she turned onto her back so that she could be heard "What would you have done if I hadn't cut my finger that night." she wanted to know whether he would have let her go. She realised he was sorry for what he had done, and now she actually did believe him, but she couldn't help but wonder what could have happened. Can vampires sleep? random questions began popping in his head. Can you bite someone without killing them? What will I do if I do kill someone? Am I going to stay here locked up forever? What is he going to do with me?

After CJ collapsed on the bed, Shane went to go sit next to her. If this situation wasn’t so serious he would have laughed at he mumbling in the sheets. He was really surprised at how well she had taken all of this. He had expected her to scream, cry, or even hit him. He wouldn’t have minded if she had. He felt that he deserved anything she threw at him.
“Being scared is totally understandable. Hell, I’d be scared to if I was in your position. But you won’t have to be for long.” He was determined to do whatever it took to make her comfortable in her new skin. He was scared too. Scared of what might happen if his family figured out what was going on. He didn’t want to think about that though because he wouldn’t let that happen.
Shane was kind of surprised at what she asked him next. He really hadn’t given much thought to what would have happened that night. “Um, well I really had no intention of hurting you at all. I just wanted to mess with you. I do that to everyone I meet. I mean, I knew you were scared and I really shouldn’t have been having fun at your expense, but I couldn’t help myself.” He would have let her go. His sister on the other hand, wouldn’t have been so nice. If Cj had met her, she probably wouldn’t be lucky enough to be living, even as a vampire.

((So usually, I don't like my charies being in too places at once. But I'll make an exception, seeing as this is a chance to get Shane in trouble. ))Roslynn was bored. Not a normal bored. More like a 'I'm going to go insane,' bored. She needed something to do, seeing as she had already tried to entertain herself all morning. She had rearranged her room a good 3 times. Each time the servants tell her that they would be happy to do it for her. And each time she would tell them to leave her alone. She had also explored almost every room in the castle. There were so many rooms not being used and even more that were in use. She found one room that had nothing in it that she really liked. It had a balcony and a big picture window. She made a mental note to make this a lounge area for herself. After Ros had gotten bored of exploring the castle, she started to make her way back to her own room, hoping she would find something to do. However, she didn't make it back to her room before discovering some entertainment. She was near her cousin, Shane's, room when she heard his door open. She rounded the corner of the hall to see a girl entering and his door closing. A smirk crawled on her face. She silently walked to the door and leaned closer to listen. She couldn't hear everything exact, but picked up most of the conversation. Her smirk got bigger as she heard the girl remark about being made into something. She then stood back up straight, not needing to hear the rest. Shane had turned a mortal. Not only had he turned one, he had brought her back to the castle. Wait until Solange hears about this, she thought to herself, but didn't go and tell her. Instead she decided she would pay Shane and his new girlfriend a visit. Without knocking, Roslynn opened Shane's door and silently walked in. She closed it just as quiet and walked right up behind Shane. "Well, well, well. What do we have here?" She then took a few steps so that she was in front of the two sitting on the bed. She inhaled through her nose a little too noticeably so that she was sure Shane would hear. She could smell the girls human scent from her clothes, and her new vampiric scent from her body. Roslynn shook her head and frowned in mock disgust. "I thought you knew better than this Shane. Pity." She then smirked once more. Shane was busted, and they both knew it.

She had closed her eyes again, successfully having pushed back her tears at least for now. She turned her head to see him as he came and sat next to her, listening carefully to what he had to say. She definately did not recognize that cocky vampire she had met the other night. And although it seemed unreal that a vampire would have remorse for turning a human, she believed him and felt thankful for this change in personality. It simply showed her that no one was really what they seemed to be on the outside, even a vampire such as himself....and now, herself.
So he did hear her comment about being scared. That made her nervous for a moment, but she immediately felt better upon hearing what he had to say. She wouldn't have to be scared for long. That was a relief, but she couldn't really see how that could be accomplished. Oh well...she trusted it would happen eventually. She just hoped she would get used to this sooner than later, because the feeling right now of not being in one's own body was really irritating her.
She was suprised. So he wouldn't have hurt her? But he had seemed so convincing that night, when he said that he could. And frightening too. So it had all been a cruel game. The idea made her mad, but she decided that anger really wouldn't help anything right now. So she kept her mouth shut. She began thinking of what vampires could do...had to do, were capapble of. At least until she heard the door open.
She sat up quickly, trying to catch a glimpse of the person who had just entered, but suddenly remembered she was supposed to be a secret. This couldn't be good. But it was definately too late, the person surely had seen her. The voice that emerged from behind Shane certainly wasn't friendly or reassuring. She felt nervous again, but decided she wouldn't say anything. There was a new smell, a strange one, and as the vampiress came closer, she could tell it was coming from her. That was awkward. She could smell people now? When the vampiress herself inhaled, she realized that it must have been because of her clothes. It then donned on her. That was her human scent. Her human clothes still smelled like she did before, at least to any vampire. So that's what it was like.
She looked up briefly at the girl's face. Her expression was definately scary. It reminded her of how Shane looked at her the night they met. She brought her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. She still kept her mouth shut, but was even more nervous when she spoke directly to Shane. What would happen now?

While talking to Cj, Shane thought of ways to help her and still keep her a secret. Now that she was awake, he couldn’t leave her locked up in his room forever. He just had to make sure that no one would see her. But he thought too soon. As if on cue, Shane heard Roslynn’s voice in his ear. He closed his eyes and sighed heavily as if he thought enough, she might disappear. When he opened his eyes and she was still there, he gave up on that notion. He was now officially doomed.
Shane noticed Roslynn inhale loudly and rolled his eyes. She wasn’t going to be very cooperative; he could feel it. Now he knew that she was already aware of the situation at hand and there was no getting out of it. “Oh please, Ros. Give me a break. What makes you so much more better than me?” He had to be careful though, because he knew if he pissed her off she wouldn’t help him. “I swear, if you tell Solange or my mother I’ll…” He didn’t bother to finish the sentence because there wasn’t much he could do. He didn’t have any dirt on her to leverage with…yet.
“What is it going to take for you to go away and pretend like you never saw this?” Shane’s heart was pounding loudly in his ears. He knew what his mother was capable and didn’t want to feel her wrath. He had crossed her once before, but that event was nothing compared to this. Shane didn’t want to grovel, but if it came down to it, he just might. He didn’t even understand why he was going through all of this for Capucine. Sure, he had turned her, but was that really his motive?

Roslynn's smirked never faltered. She took another step toward the bed, sat down and put her fingers underneath the girl's chin, lifting her face up to take a good look at her. She was a pretty girl. At least Shane had same taste. Literally. She laughed lightly at her own thoughts and then removed her fingers from beneath the girls chin.
She looked back at Shane and his expression only made her more pleased. She loved to torture her family members, it was her own way of revenge. She should be in charge, not them. She should have taken over rule, not her relatives. She hadn't cared that she wasn't ready to rule, the only reason she had agreed to let her relatives taking charge was because she had still be shook up about her older sister's death.
"Give you a break? Ha! Come on Shane. You not only turned some girl, who I'm guessing you hardly even knew when you turned her, and you brought her back without permission." Roslynn paused for a second, "This situation right here, Shane, is what makes me better than you. Even if it's just by that little bit, this is why."
Ros stood up, "Or you'll what, Shane? Push me into the sun?" She was being sarcastic, but almost on the verge of yelling. She was just loud enough for them to know she meant to yell, but quiet enough so that know one else would have really heard her.
She took a few steps, turned around a took the same amount back. Ros was thinking. What would it take for her to go away and pretend this hadn't happened? "A lot." She answered. "But first, I have some questions." She smirked once more, "Number one, why did you bring a girl who... once again I'm guessing you just met...who you turned back here? Did you just need a girlfriend and couldn't find anyone else?" Her smirk grew. She loved toying with family.

She didn't like the vampiress' touch. She didn't like it at all. And she had thought Shane was scary. Now this girl was nothing like she had ever encountered before. She could foresee no glimmer of hope in the situation. But for some reason, she didn't really fear her as much as she should have. Perhaps it was because she was used to vampires now....sort of. At least the fact that she had some experience with such creatures helped. When her chin was lifted up, Capucine looked into the woman's eyes, but only briefly before averting her gaze to something more plesant.
Well she certainly believed this woman had a strange sense of what made a person better. As far as Cap was concerned at least, Shane was much 'better' than her simply for the fact that he had some sort of compassion, which she seemed to lack completely. No wonder he had wanted to keep her a secret. Then again, she didn't know the rules that vampires upheld, so she figured it would be wrong to interject with her human opinions.
Don't threaten her.....wrong move she couldn't help but think. She figured threatening would simply agravate the situation, and she thought that perhaps on that point, she was right.
She didn't allow for any questions to be answered before she simply blurted out "How about I leave. That'll at least lessen the burden. Besides, I clearly don't belong here." Cap stood up, but remained as far as it seemed fit from Ros. She really didn't want to have anything to do with her. There was just something too cruel about her.

Roslynn was right. There wasn’t much Shane could do and he did sound pretty ridiculous with his threats. He screwed up big time and she had caught him ‘red fanged’ so to speak. He had to find someway to level with her, but it wouldn’t be easy and the last thing he wanted to do was grovel. “Is that it? Do you want me to say that you’re better than me? Fine. Roslynn, you a better than me…” He had to swallow hard after saying that. He didn’t like lying.
Shane listened to her as she spoke to him, ready to answer any questions that she may have. What did he have to lose? She had already exposed the biggest part of this secret. “Yeah I just met her, but unlike you, I have a heart. Cj doesn’t know the first thing about being a vampire and I couldn’t leave her out there to die. And she’s not my girlfriend. Like you said, I just met her. Besides, I was close to killing her. I don’t think she has a very high opinion of me.”
Before he had the chance to tell Roslynn that he could get any girl he wanted, CJ said that she would leave. Shane jumped up in haste. “NO! I mean…you can’t leave. Do you want to get killed? Or worse, do you want my mother to murder me? It’s in both of our best interest if you stay here. Just trust me. You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into.”
Shane turned to his cousin, glaring at her. He didn’t want to get ugly, but he would if he had to. “What do you want from me? I’m not going to beg you because I’m better than that. Just be my family for once and give me a reason to trust you.”
