ooc: yes, yes I am, thank you very much *bows out* btw, sry to say that this thread is invite only (not that anyone would want to be on the island anyways)
*Hey Amad* a wolf came up onto the ridge where a man sat, gazing at the night sky as he often did when there was nothing better to do. *I caught the scent of a human a bit west of here. The wind must've dragged it along. I think he's on the northern tip*
The man, up until now had been leaning against the trunk of a large tree which had clearly stood in that spot for centuries. He had closed his eyes momentarily before he heard the eerie echoe of his fellow lycan's voice in his mind. His expression became tense, and his eyes snapped open, revealing a deep yellow glow to them as he swiftly turned to see, as he expected, the young lycan standing before him.
*Hasn't anyone told you boy* Even his growl in human form seemed vicious *No one bothers me when I'm here....For anything! Take care of it yourself* no, not even a human that wandered on the island. His words were followed by a deep snarl which sent the lycan fleeing back toward the west. Stupid mut he thought to himself, no respect...
It was only a few moments later that the howls of several wolves were heard. They were preparing for a hunt, but Amad, for the first time in quite a while, really didn't care. He always enjoyed tearing a few limbs apart, but not tonight. For some reason, he felt as though solitude was the way to go, even though the clouds were settling in, surely ready to pour ceaseless rain upon the island. Nevertheless, he would probably stay there for the night.

Silvery blonde hair peaked out from behind a tree some distance away and then immediately hid itself again. Arkile had been living among the lycans for a while now. Ever since the leader had found her in a coma. She could remember nothing of her life before awakening besides her first name and in time she came to find she was a vampire. Apparently a daywalker as the sun had little effect on her besides some discomfort to her eyes.
Now she listened as Amadeus and a younger clan member fought briefly. Despite his words, which she could hear from where she was, Arkile made her way over to him as well once the other lycan went off. She too heard the sounds of lycans going on the hunt and she furrowed her brow as she did not see Amadeus move to go with them. She moved up behind him and crouched down at his side.
"Not going? Aren't you bored sitting here all by your lonesome?" Arkile grinned, teasing him with her good mood. She looked out ahead of her and then dropped her head with a sigh and glanced down at the ground. She then grabbed his wrist and stood, ready to pull him to his feet. "It'll rain soon... don't you want to see the human flailing about in the mud? This is the best time to hunt!"
Despite the fact that she was not a lycan, she had come across their same primal urge and style of the hunt. Probably from living with them so long and being unable to remember her own styles and feelings. That lack of memory was also what was affecting her at that moment, not just in her urge to hunt. Her urge to be with someone and not alone was also a part of it.
Something she could not remember didn't want her to be alone that night. It worried her and she felt that rare emotion... fear. Arkile's grip on Amadeus' wrist tightened unconciously. She looked over at him again and then sighed and released his wrist. Something about the way he looked said he really didn't want company. Her shoulders slumped. "If you don't want to go though, I'll find someone else to bother." She wanted to spend time with him. He always amused her even when he was yelling.
In fact that was when he amused her the most. However, that night they seemed to be on completely different wavelengths. Arkile wanting company, Amadeus wanting solitude. Knowing how she felt when people forced themselves on her when she wanted to be alone... she knew not to do that to him. Plus he'd be no fun if he really didn't want her there. At least sometimes he seemed ok with her presence.
Arkile forced a small grin and then started toward the hunt. She wasn't the best at it, at least not the way the lycans hunted. She often got hurt on the hunt, but she loved it so she kept at it and she was getting better. It was probably from lack of hunting while she was in a coma. Afterall she didn't know how long she'd been out so she might not have gone hunting in years. Her bright blue eyes, which always gave off a soft glow, grew brighter as she readied herself for a kill or at least some good maiming.

Amadeus remained still as he heard light footsteps coming toward him. He knew that mutt wouldn't dare to come back into his presence for the night at least, and by the distinct sound of her feet, he assumed it was Arkile. No, not assumed, knew. He remained surprisingly calm, finding no reason to move or growl for the moment, at least until she began speaking of the hunt and pulling his arm.
"And why do you think you should be an exception to the rule?" his real voice sounded far more fierce than in telepathic conversation, but for some inexplicable reason, he sounded far less harsh than he even had intended. He wanted to scare her away, at least somewhat, but he realized that after so much time together, he probably wouldn't even remotely be able to do so. The thought made him more angry.
He plopped his head back down against the tree and didn't bother to look at her again, although she still had hold of his wrist and her grip was tightening. He wondered about that. Why did she seem so intent on bringing him with her? No matter. He still wasn't going. He couldn't let himself be swayed by the simple desires of a girl...a vampiress. What would that make him look like?
He opened his eyes slightly and glanced toward her. The look on her face at that moment, for some strange reason, reminded him of when he first found her. He looked away and tried to chase the thought from his mind as she scampered off toward the hunt. It began to rain, as he expected, but he still didn't move. It simply further reminded him of that night where, after a bloody battle, he found the vampiress laying in some sort of tomb in the middle of nowhere. Although he never showed it, his curious nature led him to wonder who she was, and what had happened to her. But it was not long after that, when she woke up suddenly, certainly due to his own blood that had dripped onto her lip. He hadn't been careful, now whether that was fortunate or not was another question.
There was something in him that prevented him from simply leaving her there. Perhaps that same fatal curiosity, or something else that reared up in him at that moment. He couldn't tell, and he had never figured that out. But she sure was a big change for the clan. Unwelcome at first, of course, after all who has heard of a lycan clan that has a vampire? But after some time, it seemed she integrated fairly well.
The wind suddenly shifted course, and the rain that was now pouring down was hitting against his back. Even though the pouring water, he could now catch the scent of the human whom they surely were hunting by now. It seemed someone had already taken a bite out of him, but he was still alive and fleeing. The scent of human blood was irresistible to his lycan instincts. He opened his eyes which were now of a fiery yellow and stood up, leaping into the air and morphing suddenly into an abnormally large white wolf.
He howled and began running. *The head is mine* he said, and he laughed at himself, before increasing his speed at a seemingly impossible rate. It wasn't long before he caught up to Arkile. With a quick glance toward her and yet another pace of increase, he quickly said *Hurry up, or there'll be nothing left by the time we get there*

Arkile had hardly gotten a mile when Amadeus was suddenly beside her in wolf form. 'He must have gotten wind of the human's blood too.' Arkile thought with a grin. She showed that grin to Amad too as he told her to speed up. She nodded and in an instant she was off, gracefully leaping over fallen trees and jutting rocks with ease.
Now this was what she called fun. The chase was the most exciting part. In no time she was sliding into place behind other lycans who were in hot pursuit of the trespasser. The rain had turned the path into trecherous mud and everyone was covered in it while sliding this way and that. Arkile had little tred of that sort of surface, lacking claws to dig down and find a hold with. Thus she was practically skating after the prey.
That didn't bother her though. Afterall, she only wanted the blood so if the lycans got there first and tore him up so there was plenty spilling about, so be it. She still got fed. Things were going well as the human was taken down. Cracks of thunder roared overhead and lightning illuminated the flashes of fur that darted across the screaming meal.
Then suddenly the luck of the moment turned as a stray young lycan accidentally bumped into her and sent her careening into that mass of claws and teeth. She felt her flesh torn in a few spots and fought to get out. Finally she tumbled to the side and struggled to keep herself from flopping down into the mud. She groaned and grit her teeth. 'God damn it. I had been having a good streak of not getting injured too!'
She sighed and sat up, hands falling uselessly into the mud under her. She pouted gently as she watched the others tear the human to bits. The rain was washing all the blood into the mud and Arkile looked down at a small trickle heading downhill toward her. 'Bah.' She smack her hand through the liquid and disrupted the flow, but it soon went right back on course. Sighing, she drew her attention to the bite marks on her arm and claw marks across her stomach in disinterest.

It was difficult to manoever in the mud, but Amadeus and the entire lycan clan in fact was used to any type of weather condition. As he leaped into the air toward the scuffle, a lightening strike illuminated the entire plain and not only allowed him to see the tearing apart of the human, but the incident in which Arkile was involved as well. He roared, outraged by what had happened. If this had been a fight against a dangerous oponent he thought Arkile would have been dead.
He was immediately pulled away from his previous goal (crunching the human's face off), and bolted toward the wolf who had pushed the vampiress. His enormous body sent it's full force against the mutt which flew himself against a tree. *A pack works together!!* his voice was horribly threatening *You are aware of you're surroundings and you protect the rest of the pack!!* he snarled and went back to his original goal.
After some time however, when most of the meat was gone, he approached the wounded vampiress with a piece of meat in his mouth, spewing of blood. He threw it toward her. There was not an inch of his coat which was not covered in mudd and blood, but he really didn't seem to care. The pouring rain was beginning to wash it off anyway, and he would probably make a pit stop at the water fall before heading to the cave.
*You should be aware of you're surroundings as well, Arkile* his voice was suprisingly soft, but his gaze icy cold. He figure she had already been punished enough, so he didn't bother taking care of that himself. The truth was, he had been worried. Sure, that was hidden by his prevolant rage, but the simple fact that he could have thought of her death made him sick. Just don't die on me... he thought, but of course, did not let anyone hear that.
With that, he turned around and left her, since the rest of the pack was already on it's way through the forest after a good meal.

Arkile sat there watching the dining lycans, her eyes only distracted a moment as she watched Amad body slam another lycan, the one who had accidentally pushed her, into a tree. She cringed, but then went back to watching the meal, fascinated by the movements, snarling, ripping, gnashing. The rain plastered her blonde hair to her forehead and cheeks, but she didn't care too much. Then her thoughts were interrupted by the large white wolf approaching her covered in blood and mud.
Amad gave her a piece of bloody meet and she smirked. 'Thank you.' She thought, sinking her fangs into the meat immediately and drinking the blood from it. It wasn't much, but it was enough to satisfy her for the time. She watched the lycans go, but took her time. When she was finished she stood up and hurried after Amad and his clan, coming up beside him and nearly sliding right into him. Her luck came back to her however as she fell onto her backside right before impact and thus didn't bump him. Goodness knows what might have happened if she had.
Arkile laughed at herself and scrambled back up. 'Mud is not my friend.' She smiled weakly and handed him back what was left of the meat as she didn't plan to eat it. She just wanted the blood. She went back to paying attention to where she was walking as her feet started to slip again. "So you really did want to hunt, huh?" She teased. Arkile loved teasing Amadeus. "It's a good thing too. If you hadn't gotten there I wouldn't have had dinner. Then I'd have to go off hunting on my own on the main island." She paused a moment and then growled. "Dang... now that I think of that I'm upset. I would have liked that."
She sighed and pushed some soaked hair out of her face. She would have liked to explore the main island... but at the same time... Arkile glanced at Amad. She would have felt bad. Amad did such a good job of taking care of her and protecting her. If she went to the main island she would probably draw attention to the lycan island knowing her luck. Then that would cause him problems, and the other lycans too. Or he'd come find her and that would be problematic. Unnecessary really. Plus... she just didn't want to leave. What reason did she have? None that she could remember.

He walked calmly, slowly. He didn't even bother to go into a trot. It wasn't because he was waiting for Arkile to join him, no, he just felt calm after hunts, although this time, he seemed even calmer than usual. He pretended not to notice when she slid through the mud, but of course, he knew exactly where she was and what she was doing. He thought it a bit silly for her to fall on her butt, but tried to keep his focus forward.
Then came the thought mud is not my friend. There was nothing particularly funny about that thought, but even in his wolf form, it was clear that a smirk had appeared across his face. He snarled mockingly toward her. There was just something about her...that was...adorable. He didn't dare think any further. Adorable wasn't his style, no, so far from. Of course, if she had bumped into him, it would've been a completely different story.
As she mentioned the mainland, his attention was suddenly devoted to what she saying. He was worried briefly, at the thought that she might wander off one day and leave him hanging, no...not him, the pack he meant. Maybe he would just have to let her go one of these days. No, that really wouldn't be a good idea. It was much too dangerous for that. But there was a solution.
As they approached a small pool of clear water, he went over and lapped the surface. *I'll take you hunting to the mainland one of these days, if you really want to that much* that was the only way to ensure that she got what she wanted while being safe. He didn't wait for an answer and allowed his body to fall into he pool, appearing back on the surface in his human form as he wiped the mud off himself.

Surpise. That was her strongest emotion when Amadeus responded to her comment. He would take her to the mainland? He'd let her hunt there? She watched him lap at the water and thought over his words. She would like that a lot. Arkile smiled and watched him dive into the water. As he surfaced in his human form Arkile smiled a bit and then stepped into the water as well.
She made her way over to him. "Thank you, Amadeus. I'd... really like that." She wanted to hug him, but hugging wasn't her thing and it really wasn't his either. Amadeus wasn't the most... emotional person, or so he came off. Arkile looked up at the sky over the pool where rain still poured from. She closed her eyes and let the water wash over her. The mainland. It sent chills through her body.
Sure she'd seen it before... but she'd never been able to explore at all. In fact the only time she'd seen it that she remembered was before Amad brought her to the island. After that, for her safety and that of the clan, she stayed on their ilse and recieved blood from whoever was willing to give it when intruders weren't around for the chase and kill. Her eyes opened again as she looked down in Amad's direction.
She then splashed some water at him with her hand. "So when can we go? Do you think I'll find other vampires? I wonder... what that would be like. Do they function in clans like the lycans?" She asked him, now really curious about it. She crawled back to the bank and out to sit. She laid back, despite the mud that was getting into her hair from it and grinned brightly. Vampires...
She really wanted to meet more vampires. Some of her own kind... That didn't mean she disliked living with the lycans and it didn't mean she'd give it up, but she would still like to meet some of her own kind. She... couldn't live with lycans forever could she? Surely Amad was just waiting for the day she'd be ready to leave. Arkile frowned briefly at that thought. It hurt to think he wanted her gone. However, he was kind of like a parent to her and he was one who was getting up there and wanted to retire.
Arkile sighed and put her arm over her face. She didn't really want to leave. So why was she thinking about all this?

He tried to ignore what she first said. Thank you... but he couldn't. He didnt understand why that meant so much suddenly. Surely, he didn't let it seem as though he was affected by it in anyway, but in his mind, he was questioning himself mercilessly. Why was he repeating it in his head? I have to take her to the mainland...I want her happy of course, he wanted all of his clan to be happy, although he would never admit it. But it was different for her, and he couldn't figure it out. Perhaps it was because she was a vampire, and some day, it was inevitable that she would leave.
She'll get bored of us eventually, of me.....but what do I care? he snarled inaudibly.
"You're asking for trouble" he growled as he felt the splash of water on his face and chest which were exposed above water. He had had his eyes closed until now, when he only looked at her briefly. He seemed to be serious, but he was actually in a rather good mood.
"We can go tomorrow evening. There'll be no moon. Good night for hunting on the mainland. I don't want to encounter other vampires, it's too dangerous. They live in a Kingdom, ruled by Kings and queens, as do all the other creatures around here. There are hundreds of them." his expression hardened as he spoke of other creatures. Sure, it was dangerous to encounter other vampires, they were enemies to the lycans --if the vamps even knew the lycans were here-- but the real reason he refused to have her meet another vampire was because it could be someone who would recognize her...and she might want to go away with them. That was unnacceptable.
He was silent for a moment. Never had he not taken revenge on someone, and Arkile would be no exception. In a sudden movement, his arms created a wave of water which quickly moved toward her. Hopefully that would teach her not to do that again. He smirked.

Arkile listened to what Amad had to say. He seemed to really dislike vampires. That hurt Arkile even more. He didn't want her around, did he? So why didn't he make her leave? She sat up just in time for a wave of water to wash over her. Normally she would have laughed and retaliated as well, but instead she just brought one knee up and rested her chin on it, staring at him quietly.
She was upset now, with his words. There was so much she wanted to say to that. She wanted to yell at him. 'If my kind is so dangerous, why am I still here? Why did you help me? Why'd you take me in? Why didn't you kill me? Am I some joke to you? Am I here for a laugh or until you get bored?' All those thoughts filtered through her head at lightning speed and made her stomach turn. They made her want to cry.
Arkile didn't cry. Instead she stood up quickly and headed off into the forest before her razor sharp tongue decided it wanted some action. She couldn't speak like that to Amadeus. Even if that was how she felt... even if that was how it came off to her. He had only ever taken care of her. For whatever reason he had put up with her and her lack of memory. He had put up with her relearning how to do the simplest of tasks like hunting.
Now the vampiress didn't want company. A few careless words from that brute of a leader and she wanted to be alone as he did earlier. Arkile moved fluidly through the trees, swirving this way and that, until she came to a large rock that jutted out like a peninsula from the isle and gave a good view of the mainland. She clambered up onto it and plopped down angrily. She could just swim across now ad leave.
Amad wouldn't have to put up with a vampire in his clan anymore. It wasn't that far... half a mile. She didn't need to breathe so it wasn't like she'd get tired. Arkile slammed her fist down on the rock so hard that it shook. She was pissed. It would be so simple for her to just abandon the clan... but she couldn't do it. Why did she even consider it abandoning? They didn't need her. Besides... abandon was a term for when you feel you shouldn't leave... or don't want to.
But she did! She wanted to leave. Then why wasn't she moving? Why was she rooted to the spot, angry, annoyed, wanting to cry? She stood up and started walking, but it wasn't toward the water. No, she returned to the clan. She returned to the caves and tunnels and found her room, entering and slamming the door. She growled and stripped down to wash the mud off herself and then changed into pants and tee-shirt before throwing herself on her bed.
This way she was comfortable, but ready to up and leave if she got the nerve. How could Amad be so... cruel? Was cruel even the word? Arkile couldn't explain it. He protected her as if he cared about what happened to her and then he went and spoke about how dangerous vampires were in a tone that clearly showed he wanted nothing to do with them. And why did he have to act like that in front of her? A vampire? Why was that whole scene constantly playing in her head?!
Arkile let out a frustrated scream and threw a bit of a tempertantrum, kicking and hitting her bed like a little kid. It was all so annoying. It was clear she didn't belong there, so why wasn't she gone? Because it was the only home she could remember.
'I don't want to lose the one thing I know.'

He had reverted back to his initial position: laid back, seemingly careless, eyes closed and half floating, half sitting in the water, allowing the current to move him about slowly. He heard the light trickle of water as she exited the pool and his relaxed expression tensed. He had enjoyed her company, if you could call that enjoying, even though it had not lasted that long. He opened his eyes to make sure that she had indeed left and was not playing some prank on him...like climbing on a rock and diving on top of him, or something crazy like that. He didn't think she would ever do that, but who knew. She was rather unpredictable it seemed, and although that drove him nuts in a lot of people, it seemed to be an aspect of Arkile that drew him to her. When he concluded that she wasn't coming back, he began wondering whether he had done something wrong. He thought about it. He had answered her question honestly, if you counted that holding part of the truth was honesty.....well maybe not then. But he couldn't see what might upset her. The more he thought about it, the more he believed what she had just done --leaving without saying anything-- was ludicrous. That was something he would do!! He growled and plopped his head back in the water. He shouldn't be thinking like this. No, this was very bad. Sure, he knew to care for his clan, but it wasn't his business whether he had offended any of them or whether they were in a bad mood that day. So why did this erk him so much? His body dissappeared under water, exiting suddenly onto the shore as the large white wolf, now rid of the coat of mud and blood. He might have stayed in his human form, and although he wasn't one to be shy, he wasn't the type to be walking parading around naked on the island either. (( )) So he shook the water out of his furr and began making his way back to the caves slowly. Once inside, he went to his room and put on some clothes. He fell onto his bed, his hands behind his head and thought to be able to fall asleep. But after a few minutes, he felt the need to move again. He exited his room, almost in a hurry, at least for him...since his pace was so often relaxed although his temper wasn't. He walked down random paths, not really knowing where he would end up, but he felt restless. It wasn't until he recognized Arkile's door that he realized he had walked all the way across the caves, since his own room was at the opposite end of hers. His steps stopped, and he didn't even bother to knock. He opened the door and came into her room without really caring about her privacy. The truth was, he wasn't really even thinking about that....or thinking at al for that matter. "What was up with that?" his gaze upon the bed where she was lying was ice cold, and his voice sounded irritated, perhaps even angry, although it was hard to tell. He didn't really even know whether he was angry or not. He was of course referring to her sudden departure from the pool. "Didn't even bother to say anything?" he had thought they were having a conversation. Or at least, as much of a conversation as he would allow. He liked control, and her spontaneous departure had shown his lack of it in that situation...which possibly was the real reason he seemed slightly angry.

Arkile had just been starting to relax when her bedroom door swung open and Amadeus marched in complaining. About her leaving nonetheless. What did he think they were having a conversation? Not likely. He always had to have control and that meant he dominated any 'conversation' that tried to take place. Thus eliminating that as a possible name for exchanging words.
She growled at him and sat up. Then stood up. Then approached him and shoved him roughly. "Don't just barge into my room uninvited. Not unless you want to take it away from me. Do you? Do you want to kick me out? Your troublesome little vampiress suddenly been enough for you? Tired of looking after me?" Her expression was completely broken. Her mouth was tightly pursed like she was angry, but her eyes were glassed over like she might cry.
"Well, it's no problem. If vampires are so disgusting and dangerous then I should have no problem surviving on the mainland, now should I? I'm sorry to have disgraced your clan with my presence. Maybe next time you'll be more careful as to where you bleed, eh?" She had more to say, but she couldn't form the words. She was simply too angry. Thus she let out another frustrated scream, shoved Amad, and ran out the door toward the tunnel that lead to the mainland.
She slipped into it unnoticed by the lycans nearby and ran as fast as she could to the other end. She rammed the hidden door open there and then kept running until her upset feelings subsided and then she simply collapsed to the ground under a tree. The rain still fell in sheets and once again Arkile was soaked. However now she was also on unfamiliar territory and looking around she had no idea how to get back from where she came or how to get somewhere where she could stay.

He wasn't suprised by her behavior. Not the least bit. In fact, he would've suspected something if she hadn't stood up to him. The truth was, he enjoyed it when people stood up to him, just to have the pleasure to push them down. But unfortunately for him --and fortunately for her-- it was different for Arkile. He decided not to react until she was done with whatever she had to say. He held in a laugh as he saw her angry. He couldn't help but think that she just looked...so....adorable again. He hated that word too.
He was troubled by what she had to say though. Was that it? She had taken what he had said about vampires personally. He frowned, not really understanding how she could've done that, and felt himself grow angry again. But he had promised himself to keep everything in until she was done, and he did. The more she spoke, the more he noticed her expression loose it's adorableness and grow desperate. That's what made him angry the most. But he didn't quite understand that.
That's not what I meant...I mean it is....but not like that....What the hell is wrong with you? Why are you doing this? Can you just let me explain? He was about to say something when he felt a shove. He was shocked for a moment, long enough for her to storm out of the room. He couldn't hold his anger in any longer. She was gone, and she hadn't even let him explain what he meant. He growled loudly and menacingly, before throwing a violent punch into the wall that created a large hole in it. He didn't know what to do. Should he go after her? Make himself look like a fool? No way. But he couldn't let her wander off. Where would she go? The mainland? She wouldn't dare, not without him.
((not done))
