Kai was having fun. Finally. She actually had slept the night before and as she wandered speedily through the branches up in the high trees, looking somewhat like a monkey, she felt as though she had more energy than she had had in a long time.
The breeze was light and the sun was barely rising. It was a perfect morning. Just enough clouds to see the beautifully colored sky, but not enough to block the warmth from the sun. The frigid air of the night was still there of course, but she was hoping that the rising sun would get rid of that.
There was an abnormally large branch that appeared suddenly. She ran right into it and fell out of the tree. I can't believe I just did that she moaned loudly as pain shot through her entire body. She would definately feel that one for a while. Had she actually just fell out of that tree? She looked up. So high....she was lucky not to have broken anything. She stood up with another groan and looked at the cuts and bruises on her arms and legs. Her entire body was covered with dirt, and her previously white, simple dress was now tained with little spots of blood, but mostly dirt.
She was thankful for her large white wings. It seemed they had made her fall a little softer, but she definately needed to get clean. She could see, not too far away, the reflection of the sun in a body of water, which she assumed was the enchanted lake. A grin spread over her face. A cold morning swim. That sounded plesant. More plesant than falling out of trees at least.
Her bare feet led her to the shore. She lunged into the water without hesitation, and although it was quite cold, it felt incredibly nice. She took off her dress in the water, figuring there wouldn't be anybody around. She hadn't ever encountered anyone around here, so she assumed it was safe. She pushed herself deeper into the water with the help of her wings, all while rubbing the spots on her dress in order to try and get the out. Doubtful it would work, but she could always try.
