Marielle really should have went back to the hide out. She should have done as Razier had said; go back and start training. So why hadn't she? She saw what had happened for not listening the first time. And yet, here she was, on the beach and not at the hideout. And on top of that, she was alone.
She shivered as water washed over her still bare feet. She took a step back and sat in the sand, just out of the water's reach. A cool wind ruffled her hair as she watched the sun set. Surely there can't be anyone out that might harm me any longer. Mari thought to herself. Then she remembered all the species that were supposedly on the island. Vampires. But they can't be real. But then again, what do I know anymore?
The truth was, she didn't know much. She never knew anyone could heal people with only their hands, and now she was capable of it. What else could she do? What could her brother do? They had said they were both powerful. Could Manny heal as well? Or could they each do different things? She was so unsure of things now.
Mari wrapped her arms around her legs as she felt goosebumps forming on her body. She hadn't been to the hideout since this morning, and when they had left she had only been in a tank and shorts. Her hair was a mess and she was thankful for the ponytail around her wrist. She put her hair into a messy bun and stood up. She brushed the sand off of herself and let the water rinse off her feet. It was probably time to start heading back.

It had been a long day.
Amadeus and the two other members of his clan had been hunting through the forest for hours, without one sighting of a possible, decent prey. But finally they had struck good luck. One of the other lycans had stumbled upon a pair of a humans...a couple it seemed. They had been an easy kill, although the male had been a feisty one. Because of that, the battle had been rather bloody, the blood being the human's of course, and Amad's white glistening coat had been splattered with the red liquid.
Amad hadn't hesitated to take his fill out of one of the humans, the other two being kind enough to bring the rest of the spoils back to the island while Amadeus spent some time alone, contemplating how the encounter with Arkile had ended. Not pleasantly that was for sure. Had he been overbearing? He had outright told her how he felt...wasn't that enough? He just couldn't think about that right now.
He wandered to the shores as the darkness of night overtook the sky. ((wait...is it night?)) But unfortunately, there was someone there. He waited at the top of the hill for a moment, examining what seemed to be a female sitting in the sand. His keen sense of smell told him she was not a dangerous creature, and although she did smell somewhat like a human, that wasn't all there was to her. In any case, he didn't deem her dangerous and walked onto the beach in his wolf form.
He began running and hit the water at full speed, his wolf body creating a large splash as it encountered a rather large wave. He was under for a while, but then resurfaced and made his way out of the water. At least he was clean now, and this was a better way to do it. He wasn't one to ...lick himself.
He shook the water out of his furr and slowly began making his way back up the beach, sparing only a glance for the lone girl. She was really silly to be there alone...especially now, but fortunately for her, he wasn't hungry.

Marielle had started walking, but stopped when she realized she might have forgotten which way the hide out was. Was she really that dumb? Her and Manny had seen the beach when they had explored, but they had rested at the lake. Maybe if she found her way back to the lake....no. Bad idea. She didn't want to go back to the lake for at least a few days.
Mari thought to herself. The hide out was near the center. Which meant, she could possibly just walk straight and reach it. Right? Right. That's what she was going to try anyway. She took a few steps and stopped once more. She heard something in the water. She turned slowly to see a large, wolf like animal.
She froze, Stupid, stupid. When she had been thinking about the things on the island, she hadn't thought of animals. Of course there would be animals on the island. How else would the people here eat. Well, other than the vampires, but she didn't want to think about that.
Mari bit her bottom lip. What should she do? Scream? Faint? Play dead? No. No. No. She should have payed attention in Girl Scouts. They had taught them all that stuff. The only thing she really did well in Girl Scouts was sell the cookies, not learn about the woods and different animals.
She mentally slapped herself and took a step back as the wolf looked at her. "Uhh... nice wolfy...uhmm...sit...stay." What was she doing? Telling it dog commands? It wasn't going to listen. It probably just thought of her as food. She bit down on her lip harder, now tasting blood. She really need to stop that, but she was too nervous now to try.

He could sense her fear. Or maybe that was just his imagination and he was only seeing her scared. She had stood up and was about to walk away. Where did she think she was going? Straight into the forest? Stupid girl. Did she really think she would live more than five minutes in there? He felt like scolding her, but it really was none of his business. Who cared if she died? She was just another stupid human...or creature, or whatever she was.
At least she was a distraction from the events of the day though, he'd give her that much. But when she began calling him, that made him angry. He didn't hesitate to display his rack of blade-like teeth as he made her way up the beach and toward her. He was probably twenty feet away.
*What do you think you can fend me off like a stupid animal? You're really foolish...I should bite your head off for that* he growled menacingly. He hoped that she would at least figure out what he was...if she even had a clue. *What the hell are you anyway? And what are you doing here? I might as well kill you before a vampire comes along and tortures you. At least my way it won't hurt much* the thought made him chuckle a bit. Another snack wouldn't hurt. Just the thought of crunching through bone was plesant to him.
He took a few steps toward her. There was no way she could get away. He wondered if the fact that he had spoken to her telepathetically would simply freak her out more. Well, seeing an oversized wolf was scary enough in the first place.
*So...what do you think? I'll even be nice, and promise it won't hurt at all his growl turned into what sounded like a laugh.

Marielle kept taking slow, backward steps. Maybe he wasn't hungry. Maybe he had just wanted to go swimming and would leave her alone now. But, her bleeding lip didn't help much. She put her fingers to it and went to heal it, but stopped. Would that give away who she was? Would it matter though? It was just an animal. He probably had no idea. She decided it would be fine if she healed her cracked lip. She felt her fingers glow and tingle and her lip stop bleeding.
Then she realized she had made a mistake. The wolf was talking to her. Well, kind of. It was all in her head. She placed her hands on her ears but it didn't go away.
'What do you think you can fend me off like a stupid animal? You're really foolish...I should bite your head off for that. What the hell are you anyway? And what are you doing here? I might as well kill you before a vampire comes along and tortures you. At least my way it won't hurt much.'
Oh god. So he was hungry. What was she? Human. No. Elven. No. Both maybe? Was that possible? Either way, she wasn't going to tell him she was a prophecy child. But maybe she already had in a way. She mentally cursed herself for healing her lip. But then again, Razier could heal too, and she wasn't a prophecy child. So maybe he wouldn't know.
He took a few steps toward her and she took more steps back, only this time faster than before. It hadn't done her good though, she had only fallen backward into the sand. She put her hands in front of her, blocking her face, "Oh, God. Don't kill me please! I already almost died once today! I didn't mean to! I mean, you're just a wolf! Wolves don't normally talk!"
There she was, blabbering on. And to some animal. What was he? Just a wolf. Like Mari had said. Had there been a creature they had forgotten to tell her about? She searched her mind for an explanation, for anything. Nothing.

Had she bit her lip down to blood? Did he scare her that much? Nothing but a human could be so scared of someone like him, but then again, she didn't seem to know what he was. Maybe he should give her the pleasure of introducing himself. But when she brought her hand to her lip and the blood disappeared, he had to admit he was shocked. His steps ceased and he thought for a moment. Only angels could do that, so far as he knew, but that was the one thing she didn't smell like.
He searched her face. She seemed panicked, but even more worried when she realized she had healed herself right in front of him..or so it seemed. There was definately something strange here. She wasn't an angel, and human...at least habitually, didn't have those kinds of powers. Was it possible? Was this girl one of those siblings the different Kingdoms had been roaring about all this time? A stupid little....weakling?
He felt like bursting into laughter, especially when she began pleading for her life. There was a renewed debate within his mind as to whether he should kill her or not. He would most likely be tracked down...and back to the clan too. That wouldn't be good. At least he had realized what he might be getting himself into before he had done anything to her.
She fell back in the sand and he didn't hesitate to walk up to her. He placed his two front paws on her arms and in an instant, he was in his human form. His paws were now replaced with hands which clutched at her arms fiercely and held her down. "So wolves don't talk do they?" his deep voice roared "Well how about men? You still think I'm a stupid animal?"
He leaned down until his face was close to her neck. He inhaled deeply. Definately not an angel. She had to be one of the prophecy children...just had to be.
His grip upon her arms loosened and he stood up straight in front of her, waiting for her to realize that he had let her go. "You're the one all those fools in their castles of theirs have been after. Well they'll sure be dissapointed. Not that I care. You don't even know what the hell I'm talking about do you?"

Marielle was still babbling on about him not killing her when she felt her arms being pushed down into the sand. "OH MY GOD! PLEASE don't eat me! I don't taste good! I swear! She stuck her tongue out and liked her own cheek, well as much as she could anyway. She then spat in the sad and made a weird face. "See! Even I don't think I tas...."
She stopped talking when the wolf changed. He was now a man. Her eyes widened. How did he do that? Wait. She had heard about something like this before. Werewolf? No. Those were only on full moons. She remembered a movie she had watched before. Now what had they called those things? Lycans! That was it.
She shook her head. "Stupid animal? Did I say that?" She laughed nervously, "I ment...cute! Yes! Like a ...uhm...puppy! Yeah, cute like a puppy!" She really wasn't sure what she was saying, she just didn't want to be eaten.
A chill ran down Mari's spin as he leaned in a smelled her. She bit down on her lip again. She hated that bad habit. He let go of her and stood up. She sat up somewhat and backed away from him.
'You're the one all those fools in their castles of theirs have been after. Well they'll sure be disappointed. Not that I care. You don't even know what the hell I'm talking about do you?'
He knew. He knew she was a prophecy child. Dammit. What should she do? Play stupid? No, bad idea again. But then the rest of what he said registered and she stood up. She put her hands on her hips, gaining courage. "Disappointed?" She walked up to him and poked him in the chest a few times. "Listen here! I'm capable than more then you can probably imagine! I could have killed you with a blink of an eye if I had wanted to! I'm just against animal cruelty."
She was bluffing, big time. But he didn't have to know that. She was just going off of what she had heard everyone say. She had no idea what she could do. Other than heal of course. But after that little speech of hers, could she heal what he might do to her?

Her begging only made it more difficult not to sink his teeth into her neck as he bent down, but he resited. And when she began ranting about how cute he was, it just made him angry again. Maybe I can afford to slit her throat he began thinking. He had decided not to kill her...but maybe he should....no..bad idea.
He was standing there looking down at her with some sort of spite in his gaze. He was doing his best not to unleash all his dissapointment for the day on her, simply because he knew it would probably end really badly.
Listen here! I'm capable than more then you can probably imagine! I could have killed you with a blink of an eye if I had wanted to! I'm just against animal cruelty
She had spunk. That was the last thing he had been expecting, and for some strange reason, it pleased him to see her stand up for herself. Well one thing was for sure, she'd have to do a lot mroe than poke him in the chest if she really wanted to develop into a fully powerful prophecy child as she was pretending to be. Oh please...as if she could hurt him.
He suddenly grabbed her neck harshly, but not enough to completely cut off her breathing. He smiled and examined her face "Well you're not completely hopeless in looks" he laughed a bit "And you've got some guts...maybe you'll be lucky enough for a guy to fall in love with you who has some sort of power....but I can tell you, if you want to stay alive for some length of time, you'll have to do more than look at me in the eye." he was speaking softer than before and finally let her go.
He began walking away. He didn't feel like dealing with this anymore.

Mari had stopped poking him in the chest and had once again placed her hands on her hips. She nodded her head, as if she were proud of herself. She didn't have time to be proud of herself for long though, because before she knew it, he had a hold of her neck. Her hands went to his wrists and she tried to pull them off, but he was much stronger than her.
He smiled at her. But it didn't seem like a friendly gesture. And it made her even more nervous. This caused her to bite on her bottom lip some more. He then remarked about her not being 'completely hopeless in looks.' This made her really angry. She was more than a good-looking girl and it drove her insane when that's all guys realized. Without thinking, she spat in his face.
"I don't need a guy with power. I don't even need a guy. The only guy I really need in life is my brother." Mari said as he let go of her and began walking away. She crossed her arms over her chest, "That's right. Walk away," She muttered almost inaudibly.
She was still confused a bit though. Why hadn't anyone told her about Lycans? And why, if everyone wanted her on their side so bad, why was he just walking away? Mari wasn't one to ponder everything to herself, so she decided to ask.
"Hey! Hey wait!" She yelled to him, "why haven't I heard about your kind before? And why aren't you trying to kidnap me like those demons did earlier?" Marielle shivered as she mention the demons. She definitely didn't want to run into them again.

Pfft...she'd need a guy if she wasn't going to get stronger. And that guardian of theirs....the earth elemental was it? He couldn't even remember it had been so long since he'd heard about them. But that guardian of theirs surely couldn't protect two children...especially if they both wandered like she was doing right now. I mean, what did she think she was doing? What if he had been hungry? He wouldn't even have given it a second thought. He would have shut her up at the first scream with a lethal bite.
When she called him to wait, his steps ceased. He crossed his arms and turned around just to be able to see her. He smiled mischievously. "You ready to admit you regret spitting in my face?" he had wiped it off by now of course, but he should have been much madder at her than he was. He should have killed her for that. Why didn't he? Was he afraid? No way.
He wasn't about to answer the questions until she did. After all, he couldnt stand the humiliation of being spat at without some sort of reprucution.
She had been attacked by demons already. He was suprised she was still alive. He wondered if that was why there had been an earthquake. Arya had told him it was the earth elemental unleashing her powers. Probably to protect them. She must be drained by now. This girl was completely defenseless. He grinned at the thought.
"How the heck should I know why you havent heard of my kind before? Maybe you're just an idiot..." he snarled mockingly. And why had he not kidnaped her? Well that was simple. He wasn't interested. He wasn't power hungry, he was simply a leader looking out for the protection of his clan. That was his one and only goal....and possibly get Arkile to come back. But that was besides the point.

Marielle decided to keep up her 'tough girl' act. Even though she had already shown she was scared to death of pretty much everything on the island other than her brother, Razier and Arinada, she could at least try. Right?
She shook her head at his question. "Nope. I don't regret it. And I won't. Just like I don't regret the time I blamed Manny for breaking Mom's antique vase." She almost laughed. Manny had gotten grounded for two weeks for 'playing ball in the house'. Of course, he had got her back by telling their dad she had let the dog play with his favorite autographed football. She had gotten her phone taken away for a week, but she still didn't regret it.
She frowned at him, "I am not an idiot. For your information I got straight A's in school, thank you very much." She paused for a second, "Well, with the exception of Algebra 2...But seriously! Who needs math!" She was still mad at Mr. Frick. Because of him she had to take summer school, which she barely passed.
He still hadn't answered her second question though. The demons and almost killed Razier trying to get a hold of them. It seemed that the people on this island would do anything to get a hold of her and Manny. She wanted to stand on a giant stool with a mega phone in the center of the triangle and scream, 'Hello! I'm just a girl! I can't do anything! Stop trying to kill me and let me go home!' But of course, that wouldn't work.
"You haven't answered me completely yet. From what I was told, 'the royals' have been planning to try and kidnap myself and Manny. I guess some kingdoms that haven't gotten along very well are trying to join together just because of 2 kids." It was all silly to her.
Razier had filled her in on all of this upon arrival, and she was surprised she was remembering all of this, because she really hadn't been paying attention that day.
Mari then realized what she was saying, "Don't get me wrong, it's not like I want to be kidnapped or anything. I'm just...curious."

occ: this is gonna be a crap post sry
So she didn't want to admit it. He pulled his arms apart and looked at her for a moment. He was listening to what she was saying, just for the sake of humoring her, although he had no clue what she was saying. Whatever it was, it sounded absolutely ridiculously silly. He almost wanted to tell her to grow up, but he decided to keep his mouth shut. He refused to give her any more information.
So she did know something about this island. But it definately wasn't enough to keep her alive. That was none of his business though. Why should he care whether she lived or died? He definately shouldn't.
Fine...be that way He turned around in the middle of her last statement. He stopped caring what she was saying. He began walking again and this time, he got to the end of the beach. His figure disappeared in the forest.
