Razier had carried Marielle all the way to the temple and instructed vines to do the same with Arinada and Manuelle. As the temple came into sight she hailed another guardian who brought out several more to help take the charges from her hold. They carried them inside and put them down in Razier's room.
Razier followed them in and dismissed them once she was sure she needed nothing more. She then went to Arinada and placed her hands down on her chest and forehead. They glowed with a serene emerald light and quickly the wounds Ace had inflicted began to disappear. Once they were gone Razier moved on to Manuelle.
She was able to close the surface wounds, but the others would take more time and concentration. So instead she moved to Marielle. She'd return to him after she helped his sister because Marielle needed attention too and Manuelle would be fine long enough for that. Razier placed just her fingertips to Marielle's forehead and the glow eminated from them again. The magic went to her back and wherever else it was needed.
She noticed the burnt hair and chuckled softly. Then she shook her head and ran her fingers through what was left of the hair. As they left the ends the ends followed her fingers down until the hair was as long if not longer than it had been before. She continued the process until Marielle's head of hair was back. "It might need some styling, but as least it's not chopped."
She smiled softly and pat her shoulder. "Alright. If you need anything else feel free to ask any of the guardians. They can be found anywhere in the temple. One outside should be able to direct you to a spare room for you to rest." She looked between Arinada and Marielle and then returned to Manuelle.
Placing her hands on his chest she kneeled and applied light pressure to his ribs. It would probably hurt at first, but it had to be done. The light was stronger than ever as she closed her eyes and focused her thoughts on mending his ribs and any internal injuries he may or may not have. It was hard to do, she hadn't used her healing powers to such an extent in years.
It took a while, but finally she did all that she could for Manuelle. She moved away and prayed that he would be healed by that, she didn't have any magic left in her for the day, nothing usable. She summoned a vine that was growing up her wall to bring her a pitcher of water that was next to a small stone pool in the corner. A rag was hanging from the edge and she began to wipe off the drying blood from Manuelle's skin as she waited for any response from him.
"Damn. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have left them alone. Why did I think they would honestly stay put?' Razier thought to herself angrily. 'Maybe I secretly thought I wanted this. I... I don't though. I don't want their blood on my hands... they didn't... They didn't kill your parents Razier!' She couldn't help but growl and shake her head at her own stupidity. She was a failure as a guardian and it was obvious in how injured her charges got that day.
She should just give them to more capable hands. They didn't deserve to be neglected because Razier was selfish and vengeful.

Manuelle was out cold. He was unaware of everything that had been going on around him since he had been knocked unconscious. His breathing was now shallow and blood was flowing rapidly from his body. If he didn’t receive some kind of treatment soon he would surely die.
Manny couldn’t feel the smaller wounds being healed as Razier felt her hands on his body. However, when she moved to heal the larger ones, he could feel a tingling inside, like a warmth. A rush of air filled his lungs as he felt the pressure from her hands, but it wasn’t enough to wake him completely just yet.
He could barely feel Razier wiping the blood away with a wet rag. Suddenly a voice filled his head telling him to wake up. Groaning, he fluttered his eyes open. Drops of water fell out of the corners of his eyes. His body ached as he tried to get his breathing back to normal. Looking around him, Manny realized that he didn’t recognize where he was. Then he looked directly above him and saw Razier looked down at him.
Looking her in the eyes, he smiled faintly. “I’m in too much pain to ask how you did this, but thanks.” His voice was slightly above a whisper. He saw his sister sitting close by. “Hey, are you okay?” Marielle was extremely important to him and he was so glad that she appeared to be alright. “I love you, you know that?” Now that it was just the two of them he realized how much she meant to him.
Near her he saw Arinada, the woman that was supposed to his mother. Whether it was true or not he didn’t want to believe it. So many years had gone by without a mention of her and he wasn’t about to greet her with open arms. He had no words for her so he looked away, back up at Razier.
OoC: SORRY!!!! My baaaaad. I actually had to study for an ap econ test and it took FOREVER! But I'm back now...

((Eww...tests/exams DO suck...don't worry, you're forgiven. XP))
Throughout the journey to the temple, Arinada was barely aware of the vines carrying her; she'd been on the verge of a blackout the whole time, with only her strength of will keeping her conscious. She felt them slow, and then put her down gently, and at first Arinada didn't know where they were.
Then, as Razier healed her grievous wounds, Arinada managed to open her eyes and blearily look around. The temple, she realized, immediately relaxing. This was the safest place they could be, the place where the gods watched over those in need and protected them from evil. Good luck attacking us here, she thought bitterly about Nolwenn and Ace. The battle was still fresh in her mind, and, though on the outside they had disappeared under Razi's care, Arinada could still remember the feeling of Ace's claws ripping into her flesh. It hurt to remember.
Her next thoughts were of Manuelle and Marielle, and their well-being. She turned her head and saw Razi healing Mari, then moving back to Manny. Arinada ignored the implication that she go rest now; she wanted to make sure Manuelle was okay. So, she remained silent, watching Razi heal him, thanking the gods the whole time that they were all alive, and that Razier had healing powers. It took a while, but Arinada was patient. She closed her eyes for a while, until she could feel the magic's presence in the room growing fainter, which meant Razi was finishing up.
She remained silent while Manny spoke to Razier and Mari...then he looked at her, and said nothing. She moved her gaze, hurt by the disbelief in his eyes, but reminding herself that he had a right not to believe, that he hadn't seen or known her, or anything about her, his whole life. It had been her decision to remove her children from the island, for their own safety, and she had to deal with that.
Arinada had to get off of her back and stand tall, like she usually did. She would not be ashamed of herself, regret the choices she made in the past. She stood with fluid grace and strode to the mirror atop Razi's vanity, and stared into it with a creased brow and troubled eyes. After a few moments, she turned back to Razi and said, "How much do they know?"

Marielle had been carried away from the lake by Razier. She didn't resist or move really, but she was wide awake. She thought the whole way to where ever they were going. She was worried about Manny. He had been hurt badly, and she was scared he might not make it. She didn't want to think about that, but she did.
Then they reached a temple and everyone went to the same room. Mari watched as Razier healed the elven one supposedly her mother and Manny. She sighed in relief, realizing Manny would be okay. "Razier." Mari said softly as she looked at Manny after he had been healed, "I can do that." Her statement was more of a question. She wasn't sure how she had healed her brother earlier, but she had.
Then Razier came over and healed her. Her whole back felt a warm sensation and then it felt as if nothing had ever happened to it. Then Razier placed her fingers in Mari's hair and Mari realized she had made it grow back to the length it had been. She smiled, "Thank you."
When Manuelle woke up he looked over to her and asked if she were alright. Marielle nodded. Then he told her he loved her. Mari felt like she wanted to cry. Just the way he said that made her feel as if he was saying it because there was going to be another time like this. He was saying it because there was always a chance that either one of them wouldn't make it out of the 'next time'.
Mari smiled softly, "I love you too." As she spoke, she moved closer to him and took his hand. "Guess what, talking to plants works," she said with a laugh. She then looked over to her 'mother' when she stood. When a question was asked looked from her to Razier, waiting for the answer.

Razier felt a pain run through her, but she ignored it. She didn't even flinch with it. Her jaw might have tightened a little though. It was hard to deal with though between the physical and emotional pain she was going through right then. Razier scrunched her nose a little, but then forced a small smile as Manuelle thanked her for healing him. "No problem. It's my job."
"Well, actually it's my job to protect you from getting hurt in the first place, but seeing as I failed at that..." She trailed off, looking away a moment. However as Manuelle told his sister he loved her she looked back between them and their mother briefly. That was sweet. No one ever told Razier they loved her. Then again, what reason would anyone have for that?
She shook her head. That was a lie. One person said they loved her. She didn't want to think about him though. She had been so cruel the last time they had met. She had let the pressure of her work get the best of her and she had neglected him, taken out her frustrations on him. Razier stared down at the stone floor a moment and then placed her hands on her knees before standing up.
"They know the basics, but if you'd like to fill them in a little more... I have to go see someone..." Razier said, addressing Arinada's question. She then headed for the door and stole away into the hall. She brushed her fingers over a small plant. "Tell Rhodes I... I want to see him in the basin." She was reffering to the basin in the mountains where the tunnels were open to the sun from a hole above. Grass grew there and creeping vines hugged the walls. Razier often went there to have the best of both worlds, sunlight and solitude.
She headed for the basin then and left a guardian to watch over the siblings and Arinada. Anything they needed they could ask of him. Meanwhile she had to see a certain Angel prince. A certain... Razier's eyes drifted to her left ring finger. The pale band was still there where a ring had once resided. She sighed and entered into the basin to sit in the grass and cry.

Arinada frowned at Razi as she left the room, knowing that something was wrong, knowing that her friend was upset...but she didn't confront her, knowing very well that Razier wouldn't want to be questioned in front of her charges. Now she looked at Mari and Manny, and knew that things weren't going to be easy. She knew they weren't going to believe at first...but she had to try.
She took a deep breath, then turned around and leaned back against the edge of the vanity and spoke: "I'm assuming that, by "the basics" Razier means you know where you are. The Bermuda Triangle. And that there are four ruling races here, Elves, Angels, Vampires, and Demons; there are some humans living here, too, but they are at the mercy of the rest of us. I am Queen Arinada of the Elves; you already met Queen Nolwenn and Princess Acerina of the Demons.
"Some time ago, a prophecy was written that the Elf Queen would bear two children, a boy and a girl, both of whom had powers that would surpass those of all others in the Triangle. No one believed it at first, until I gave birth to the two of you, and, even in infancy, you had some...unusual abilities." She paused, dropping her gaze to the floor for a moment to decide how to say it. Then, she looked back up, and continued: "I had to make a decision. The other royals knew of your existance and everyone knew that you were the Prophecy Children. Everyone wanted you for themselves, and your lives were at constant risk after only a few weeks.
"So...Razier and I orchestrated your removal from the Triangle. We found a mortal home where you would be welcome, and we gave you to them. I can see they've been good to you..." She trailed off, suddenly caught up in a torrent of emotions. Here were her children, and she had to explain to them so formally why their lives were in danger. It felt so strange, speaking to them this way...but she knew that if she just rushed over and embraced them, she'd only alienate them further.
She just had to be patient.
Arinada turned back around to look in the mirror, so that--hopefully--only she saw her sad eyes. "I know it's hard to believe," she added softly, "but I am your mother, and I love you, even if you don't believe me. I ask that you trust me and understand all that I've told you to be true. I won't ask you to come and stay with me, because I know I don't have much of a right to do that, and there would only be more political turmoil if I did. It would be best if you stayed here, or returned to the hide out."
Arinada had to stop then; a lump formed in her throat, and she needed a moment to clear it. After she knew she could speak, she turned once more and smiled at both of them in turn, partly joyous and partly with sorrow, and said: "But, if you ever need me, I'm here for you, and my home is open to you. It should be yours, too, anyway..."
((okay, I'm done now!! I forgot to delete my "will finish later" message after I DID finish it...woopsie. XD))

Rhodes had been sitting in his room by the open window, staring out across the forest to a tree that was a little bigger than the rest. He stared towards it, his chest aching as he thought of the resident there. He wanted to to see her so badly, but she wanted nothing to do with him. He... he hadn't meant to push her so hard. He just wanted her safe.
He turned the ring on his finger slowly and sighed heavily. Then suddenly a vine wrapped around his wrist. 'Razi wants you. The basin, she says.' Rhodes' heart leapt as the plant whispered to him. Immediately he was up and heading to the basin. Like he'd pass up a chance like that. She wanted to see him?
A few minutes later he was above the opening of the basin and looking down upon Razier's figure. At first he didn't realize, but then he saw her shoulders shuddering and knew she was crying. He dropped down without a thought after that and landed beside her. He got onto his knees and wrapped his arms around her, brushing her hair out of her face.
"What's the matter, Razier?" He asked, kissing her temple gently. He kept his arms wrapped about her as he turned her into his chest. "Tell me, love." He whispered it softly into her ear and rubbed her back. What a way to see her after so long. Not that he'd trade it for anything. She had avoided him completely since she gave back the ring... just seeing her was enough to make him happy, but it didn't seem to be helping her at all.

Razier heard a soft thud as feet touched the floor of the basin. She didn't need to look up to know that Rhodes had arrived. Especially when just a moment later he was embracing her and asking her what the matter was. She allowed him to turn her against him and buried her face in his shirt.
"I'm a failure. I nearly got my charnges killed today." Razier didn't mention that she too was nearly killed, but she figured once he got past her crying and took a look at her it would be rather obvious. For a second she regretted asking him to come see her, she knew he'd only lecture her about risking her life for strangers. Then the regret passed and she sighed.
He might annoy her sometimes, but he was always there for her when she needed him. He was her best friend, probably her only friend... if he'd still allow her to call him that. No doubt he would because he still loved her, even after all she had done to him. Even after she threw his ring back at him. Even after she yelled at him when he didn't deserve it. Razier bullied the poor guy so much and yet he never seemed to hate her for it.
Razier's arms wrapped around him and she hugged him as tightly as she could even though it hurt. "I need to find someone else to care for them. I can't do it. I'll get them killed, Rhodes. I'll kill them becuase... they're the reason for my parents' deaths. I can't get past it. I left them alone because of it and they got hurt."
She pulled away and looked back at Rhodes, her eyes filled with tears again. "Take them... take them for me... find them someone else. Someone who will make a better guardian. You were right. I'm not cut out for this job. I'll only get everyone killed. I'm not strong enough." She was sobbing now, her sentences coming fast and in gasps. Her fists tightened around handfuls of his shirt. "Please, Rhodes. Save them from me."

Manuelle sat up slowly as Razier left. He stood carefully and walked over to a window. Looking outside, he noticed that she was sitting in the grass and couldn’t help but feel badly. It was her job to protect them and after today one would think that she had failed, but it wasn’t like Manny had made things any easier on her. It was almost as if he pushed her out the door of the hideout this morning.
Manny didn’t turn away from the window as Arinada began speaking. He listened to her story and it added up to all the things that Razier said but it still wasn’t making any sense to him. The story sounded so incredulous that he refused to believe it. He didn’t say a word at all while she spoke, he just listened to her lies.
“You know, I don’t know what’s worse: talking to plants and getting attacked by ‘demons’” (he made those finger quotation marks) “or listening to your lies.” Turning around, he smirked. “I don’t know what you people around here are trying to pull, but I’m not falling for it.” Manuelle walked over to his sister and wrapped his sore arm around her waist. “Just do whatever you want with us and let us go home.”
OoC: ehhhhh....I tried. Sorry it's so late.

Rhodes stared down at the girl in his arms, the crying angel that he didn't know. Razier was normally so strong. That wasn't to say that Rhodes thought she never cried, it was just... not Razier to say she failed. To give up and say she couldn't do something. Then it all clicked as she mentioned her parents. He knew that was a sore subject for her and hugged her tighter.
"Razier, stop this. What are you saying? I can't take your charges. They're yours. You haven't failed at anything." He turned her face up to look at him. He then brushed some hair out of her face and pulled her back against him again. He looked up with a sigh and then spotted a boy in the window looking down. Rhodes raised an eyebrow. One of Razi's charges?
Rhodes stared at his back as he turned and then he went back to Razier. That was when he noticed the injuries. His protective side flared up and he was suddenly angry. With the prophecy children. They got her into this mess. They got her hurt. He picked her up then and marched inside. "Get me a Gods damn healer!"
He rarely used language like that, but angry and protective combined made him... unpredictable to say the least. He went straight to Razier's rooms and entered without a care for the people inside. "Get out, Razier needs her room." He said, but then his gaze fell to Arinada. He sighed and walked to the bed where he placed Razi down.
"Arinada... Razier... she won't be watching over your troublesome children. I won't have her in that kind of danger. Plus she seems to think it's all her fault." His gaze flashed to the boy and girl in the room. "I wonder why." Rhodes looked to the door as a healer came in and started work on Razier. "I'll watch over them until we can find someone else."

Mari watched as Razier left and Manny walked to the window. She listened as Arinada spoke, but didn't look at her as she did. She looked at her hands and thought about everything, trying to put it all together. Why did they even have to be here? No one should have brought them back.
"Why didn't anyone tell us? Explain to us early on so that we could be prepared for this?" Marielle asked. "I mean, they could have at least told us we were adopted."
Manny walked back from the window and over to her and put his arm around her. She shook her head as he spoke. "Manny, I don't think they just want to do something to us and let us go home." Mari figured that they needed something else from them. Their help maybe?
She jumped slightly when a man carrying Razier burst into the room and told them to get out. She watched as Razier was put on the bed and the man talked to Arinada. He said that Razier wasn't going to be watching over them any longer and that they were troublesome. Then he implied that this was all there fault and Mari had to shift her own gaze to avoid his.
Then the man said he would be watching over them instead and she looked back at him in shock. "What?"

Arinada's hopes began to fade as she absorbed Manny and Mari's reactions. Something inside her broke for a moment; her shoulders slumped, her knees wobbled, and her head dropped forward so that she was staring directly at the floor...but only for a moment. The weakness she showed just then, which she never, ever would have displayed were there enemies around, disappeared as quickly as it had shown its ugly face.
Now when she looked at them, she was angry. Mostly with Manny. Mari's question about them having no knowledge of their adoption was reasonable...but her brother was, frankly, being a brat. Her voice was calm when she answered Mari's question, though there was still fire in her eyes: "I don't know why your adoptive parents never told you. I'm not sure they believed our story about the Prophecy in the first place."
But then Arinada turned to Manny, who was still slightly shorter than she, and she glared at him with a mother's fury. "You, young man, need to learn to open your eyes and respect what you see. Here," she paused to pull her knee-length, flaming red hair away from her face, and turned her head so that he was looking directly at her ear. "See this? That's my ear. That's how it's been since I was born. Pointed. Because I am an Elf." She let go of her hair and continued, "Certain spells we put on you to hide your ears are still in effect, which is why you don't appear to have pointed ears.
"But can you really tell me that you don't believe anything that's happened to you so far is real? This feels real, doesn't it?" She pinched him hard on the arm, "See? You're not dreaming. Those really were demons who attacked you, specifically the Queen and her sister the Princess. I really am Queen of the Elves. You really do have powers beyond any that those of us on the islands can claim--"
She had to break off as a distressed Rhodes entered the room, shouting at everyone to leave. Then he apparently noticed her and announced his taking over Razier's position. Anger flickered inside her again, but Rhodes wasn't her son, and she had to speak to him with some respect and patience. "Rhodes, don't be ridiculous. Razier is exhausted, and, whether or not you want to believe it, it's not her fault Queen Nolwenn and Princess Acerina decided to attack my son and daughter. And I'd rather you didn't speak to them with such disrespect. They've got a lot on their plates, and it was all thrown at them at once--then on top of that, they were brutally attacked. I was nearly killed as well.
"Razier knew what she was getting herself into when she agreed to be their guardian. No one forced her to. She can make her own decisions...I understand how you're worried about her, and believe me, I am too--she is one of my closest friends--but it's not your place to simply take over her job." Arinada stopped, realizing just how much she was talking. She turned and walked over to the vanity again, and stared hard into the mirror. How would she convince them that this was the truth?

((I'm godmoding Rhodes... because i give myself permission to. Haha.))
Razier was surprised as Rhodes picked her up. He carried her into her own room and put her on her bed, telling everyone there to get out. That was unlike Rhodes in so many ways. She shook her head and sat up, ignoring the healer who came in to help her, batting them away. "Rhodes..." She started, but he seemed to have noticed Arinada on his own.
Her mouth dropped open a little like she wanted to say something as he blamed the prophecy children for the whole mess. She also listened to Arinada and could tell she probably wanted to give Rhodes a good talking to, but as an Angel prince she couldn't. Razier rather wished she would. At least until Arinada began to talk about Razi and her job. She tensed and felt ready to cry again.
"Razier did---" Razier jumped up and covered Rhodes' mouth. He couldn't finish that sentence. Arinada was wrong in saying Razier knew and wasn't forced into the position, but she didn't need to know that. Razier couldn't explain that to anyone. She explained it to Rhodes and it had not been easy. He hadn't understood for a while. She sighed. "She's right. I knew something would happen. I... should just accept it and keep my position."
Her eyes dropped to the bed a moment as her chest tightened. She just knew she'd get them killed. She wasn't cut out for this... but it was her job and her's alone. She was chosen for whatever reason. Now that she had had a chance to cry she felt... slightly better, but not great. "I'm sorry... I'll still be their guardian." Rhodes growled and started to object, but Razier put her forehead to his shoulder and he quieted.
She then looked over at Marielle and Manuelle. "You may not want to believe all this, but this is what you have. This is it. Learn to deal with it, learn to believe in it... and the whole process will go quicker and easier. Please, just try. Can you honestly still reject this as reality after so much? After nearly dying at the hands of demon royalty and such?" Razier stood up, practically falling, but Rhodes caught her. She walked over before them and fell to her knees.
"I won't let that happen again. I promise." She was mainly talking to Manuelle as he had been the one most injured, but the sentence also extended to Marielle. "I'm so sorry for failing you today." She hung her head low, a few fresh tears trailing down her cheeeks. She held back for the most part, but it was hard to hold it all in, there were so many feelings inside her that wanted to burst out. She had to stay strong though.
